Outset Stainless Steel BBQ Skewers With Pink Himalayan Salt Cubes, 2 Skewers and 4 Cubes For Kabobs

Wow what a difference these kabob skewers make! Finally, I'm able to turn my kabobs and have my meat and veggies turn WITH it, so everything can cook evenly! And the "slider" part is great for helping to push everything off the skewer when it's time to eat. They wash great in the dishwasher and appear to be of very good quality so should last a long time. I was so impressed by them that I purchased a couple of sets as a gift for my nephew, who is a Green Egg fanatic and an excellent BBQer. He was really impressed with them, as well, and very appreciative of their quality. You cannot go wrong with these babies -- they're worth it!

These skewers arrived well packed in a shrink wrapped retail box. The skewers are sturdy enough that they should last a long time. The overall length is a little shorter than my other skewers, but long enough to handle a typical kabob. The salt cubes are substantial and very tough. I was worried before I opened the box that they would be fragile, but these are strong and should last a long time. One image in the listing shows two skewers each with four cubes, but to be clear there are two per skewer for a total of four (as in the description). Using them they only add a slight salt taste. What I found beneficial is they kept the food slightly elevated from the grill - this reduced the tendency for some vegetables to burn. I found it is best to put these on the skewer and place a piece of meat at each end to ensure the salt didn’t fall off. As there are no handles I needed to use tongs to rotate the food. Overall Verdict? Nice product, your guests will all ant to know where you got them (and be sure to tell them not to try to eat the salt!!). I recommend this product.

The salt blocks themselves are impressively hefty and durable, providing a subtle saltiness and helping to keep food slightly elevated from the grill to prevent burning. The skewers are solid and sharp, though a bit shorter than standard, and only two are included per pack, which may feel limiting for larger gatherings. One drawback is the lack of handles on the skewers, making them tricky to turn when hot—using tongs is necessary. The salt blocks have large center holes, which means they can slide around a bit, so it’s best to secure them with food pieces at each end. Cleaning the salt blocks can be a bit challenging and requires some effort. While some design improvements—like longer skewers, heat-resistant grips, and larger pack sizes—would enhance usability, the price feels quite high considering these functional drawbacks and the fact that the pack only includes two skewers.

The Outset Stainless Steel Slider Skewers are an excellent product for a few reasons. First, it is a great idea to have two skewers instead of one to hold the meat, veggies, etc. Whenever I’ve tried to make kabobs in the past, the food would always fall off and spin around the skewer. Having two prongs keeps the food in place, which makes grilling or baking so much easier. Secondly, the food easily slides off the skewers when done, which is a huge plus. However, and this is a big however, the sliders get HOT. Wondering if some other type of material like silicone could be used because it is very cumbersome to use a potholder and you just can’t touch it off the grill. I know you could let it sit and rest, but it stays hot for a while. This is the reason I did not give the Outset Skewers five stars. Finally, you can’t beat the price. I’ve seen similar products which might work just as well but at under $11, the Outset Skewers are a great choice. Bottom line, I would highly recommend the Outset Skewers, even with the hot sliders.
