A full nights sleep
This machine works for both myself and partner (who always woke up several times during the night until now) we like the "rainfall" setting, which is a natural and and wonderful sound to sleep by (even with our noisy neighbours above us, talking, walking about and sometimes dragging furniture on the wooden floor between midnight and 5 am). This model has 30 different sound settings and is adequate for our use. Research and read the reviews we have no regrets (except the price). Spend the extra and don't waste time or money on cheaper models.

Very good product that solved a snoring problem
Very good product that solved a snoring problem.Worth purchasing this more expensive unit as the sound is fuller and works better.

Avoid.
I am highly sceptical of the positive reviews for this product. I have suffered with noisy neighbours for the last year and bought this following not only reviews on here but also other websites. I haven't suffered the issues with the SD card others have reported (though those reports are widespread) however I find the device ineffective and very poor.First off, the device itself looks okay but the buttons have a distinct poor quality about them. This is a minor issue, and if it worked I would not care but it does not. I live in a ground flat, I have tried this in our smallest room and no noise from it is effective at cancelling out background voices from the flat above, and certainly has NO hope against louder music or TV noise. The waterfall option sounds odd, more like a fan. I have a dehumidifier, this produces a white noise that has more effect on background noise that this. This is a total waste of money. I would not advise purchasing this. I'm confident that you'll have the means to play this the type of white noise this offers already assuming you've some speakers and the internet. You'll probably find better and more effective white noises too. The adaptive volume does react, but it has no subtlety. It cannot react to the type of noise you're buying this for, it has to be a loud and prominent noise and it's inept at masking those anyway. If like me you were hoping this would be the device to finally ease those noise nuisances, sadly it is not.

Expensive, but satisfying purchase, with a couple of drawbacks.
The overall sound quality delivered by this Sound+Sleep Therapy Machine is far superior to that of the machine I used before: it doesn't have this tin can sound quality. However, there are certain sound effects the richness adds that don't sound very natural, and there's even some that are startling. My favorites so far, after a couple of weeks of use, are ocean, train, city, and meditation, since they deliver the type of constant din that's most likely to cover any disturbances. Something the manufacturer should pay attention to in subsequent releases is the limitation pushing the adaptive sound button puts on maximum attainable volume, which is not nearly loud enough to cover disturbing environmental noises. Also, for maximum flexibility, they should have made it with a sound card option. I am nevertheless pleased with my purchase of a fairly expensive machine.

Does not live up to the hype
I really was hoping great things from this device. The reviews i read made it sound like the Holy Grail for peaceful sleep. But unfortunately in my opinion it does not live up to the hype, especially for the price.I had read that a number of these devices had gone out with a faulty SD card that causes horrid screeching noises to come out of it after a few days, and if i ended up with one of these not a problem contact ASTI support and they will send a replacement SD card with instructions on how to fit it and this will correct the problem. Knowing this i still went ahead and purchased it. The first few days i was relatively happy with the unit, albeit with a few minor disappointments on some of the hyped features (i will get to this in a bit), but then the screeching and distortions started. So i contacted ASTI and, despite getting a rather curt and unfriendly response from the support, within a week the replacement SD card was posted through my door. I fitted it easily within 10 mins, and everything seemed hunky dory again. However, after a few nights of using it with the new card in i noticed lots of little clicks, pops, and thudding noises in the background of my favourite sounds (the train, the fan, and the brown noise). These were irritating enough for me to not be able to sleep with the device on. I reported this to ASTI support again and got an even more curt and abrupt response (no greeting, no "sorry the device is not working as expected", etc.) stating that all they can do is send out another card. If it didn't work the first time around, how is it going to work doing the same thing again?!? At this point i realised i was going to get nowhere with ASTI so i have returned the device to the UK seller, who was brilliant by the way and refunded the item easily. In addition to the noise distortion problem i had a few other gripes with the device:- The fabled dynamic Sound Adaptation feature on it simply did not work for my purposes. I bought the device to block out bumps and thuds from my elephant-footed neighbor upstairs and the device simply cannot react fast enough to these noises to drown it out. TBH I cannot see how any device could react this quick, and so the technology is a bit of a gimmick.- I found that i simply did not need this many soundscapes to use. I found for the kind of noise i was trying to block out (low frequency thuds and bangs) the only soundscapes that kinda worked were the train, the fan, and the brown noise. All of the other noises were not much use to me. In fact I found the other noises irritating because they didn't sound particularly natural (e.g. the Meadow sounded like a murky bog from a horror film and the Meditation was just a load of random abrupt noises that would be impossible to meditate to), and even more so with the Enrichment feature on (another gimmick).- The unit emits a great deal of EMF radiation. I certainly would not want this next to me all night.- The power connection seemed very flakey. If i moved the unit when it was on i had to be very careful, as it would lose power when i tried to do so. Maybe a bad power cable?
