For the price, absolutely invaluable to anyone poor enough to not be able to afford something this grandeur but somehow it's only $40. 5MP is astounding and well beyond a 2MP microscope I've used before which was triple in price.The DIMMABLE LED and 5MP alone is worth it. I'm using an OTG cable with the TinyScope software. Works amazing on my phone. Plug and play no issues!I've used this scope as I'm working fulltime, have student debt (can't finish my degree) and still wanted a way to study fossils/geology which is my life's goal.The pictures attached are of beautiful banded iron detritus the size of a sprinkle. Lighting is just the LED from the scope itself. That by far is the most impressive to me. It makes the tiny microscopic world look like alien landscapes and just slightly altering the angle makes great results.I'm not paid or a fake person to review this. I'm a poor working American using Prime for what it's best for - providing tools to those in areas in which they usually wouldn't be able to. Maybe someday my work will be found by someone with the means to fully research what I start - and thanks to this amazingly priced scope - it's possible.Teachers would be best of buying this for students as well. The stand I received was metal and VERY sturdy even when scrolling to zoom...maybe they upgraded it from what the other people got? Either way, I've used it almost a month in the field wet or dry (wouldn't rec the latter) and it's still working great.All in all excellent value to provide hands on educational experiences for adults and children alike. Thank you Prime for letting someone like me experience the magic.PS obviously don't compare this to a Celestron or more expensive scope. This is 6/5 stars for the overall price/value, you can't beat it but you get what you pay for. Be gentle physically to it and hopefully itll last awhile.

This USB microscope was purchased for stamp collecting purposes. The image quality is very good, with a very low noise imager and high resolution. Two images from the microscope are shown, one a full view image with the object approximately 4" from the microscope, and the second image has the microscope resting against the same object. Note that 5MP resolution allows you to zoom in (digitally on your computer) to resolve small features, even at a low magnification with a large field of view. As mentioned by many others, the stand is not very good, and if you need to adjust the distance to the object frequently you will want to buy another stand. For my purposes, I use it in a fixed position, so it does not bother me.The color balance is accurate, and the illumination provided by the built in LEDs is sufficient, even at minimal lighting levels. The provided software is required to achieve full image resolution (for photo capture purposes). The native Windows 10 camera app works fine for real time viewing without any additional installed software. This microscope offers a good value for the 5MP images it produces.

This thing exceeds my expectations. I was expecting a toy, and "just ok" images/software given the price. It focuses crisp, clear images full screen and the software works perfectly. Came with a disc, loaded the drivers and software for Windows, and was up and running in a few minutes. The led lights have an adjustable brightness control, and you would rarely use full strength. When zooming, you need to adjust the distance to specimen and this is to be expected. If I were using this all the time, I'd pick up another stand with height adjustment knob for the camera rather than loosening the screw which holds it on the stand stem to make the adjustment. I bought this as Christmas present for grandkid and hooked it up to check it out. Now I have to buy one for myself, but found them Out of Stock.

Bought this from Weevo Inc. Download a generic app from PlayStore and microscope works. (TinyScope or CamFi) Actually microscope works really well until you have to download app again. Then it doesn't work well because THEY ARE GONE!!! What the hell man.?! Both apps have been removed. Please fix this. W.Pooh

Microscope is a good value. I would give this more stars but the app recommended in the manual and the website in the description won't work on Android 11. Did some searching and found an app called OTG View in the apps store that works. If you try it give a like minute for the picture to show up after connecting

I've been having an issue finding one that works with Win 10 easily so I bought this because of the review that said it works on Win.10 'right out of the box' -- and it does! ..and it works well! I'm not doing highly technical work so the up to 300X magnification is enough for me -- the pictures are clear, the photo option works well.. the directions are well written and this digital microscope is easy to use - yay!
