Doesn't come to a point
This brush is far inferior to the one that I have used for 20 years. My old worn one has more of a point than the new one. Very disappointed.

Excellent
Excellent brushes that are hard to find in stores or online. The 5 brushes came in great shape and everyone who got one is very happy with it. Thank you!

This will quickly become your favorite brush!
I have to say, when I saw the price tag on this brush I was floored. Who in their right mind would pay this much for a brush?Well, I did. After months of trying to master watercolor with some cheap synthetic brushes, I decided to splurge on this seemingly gimmicky brush, and I had no idea what I was missing. The sable hair holds as much moisture as I need, so washes and gradients are smooth and seamless. The pointed round allows me to get into tight corners without my colors bleeding. I ordered this in a size 8, which is a great happy medium for moderate sized paintings. No shedding and no crimped hairs. This is now my go-to brush for any watercolor painting. If you do decide to purchase an artist grade brush like this, make sure you treat it as such! Paint comes off easily with warm running water and the brush retains its shape (so-far) through weeks of washing. If you must use soap, use only the gentlest of cleansers! Whereas my synthetic brushes now get a squirt of Dawn and some hot water, my WN brush is treated like royalty. No technical issues yet, and I don't expect any!My only complaint with the brush is its price tag, but after painting with it , I definitely think its worth the plunge. I plan on phasing out my cheap Hobby Lobby brush sets for more high-quality brushes like this in the upcoming months.

Arrived damaged
The brush was shipped with the plastic protector tube pushed down over the ferrule, leaving the delicate bristles exposed and damaged.A replacement was delivered, with the same issue, but not so severely damaged. The bristles are soft and flexible, paints well enough, not my favorite brush. Even with careful use, handling, and cleaning, this brush looks choppy, like a cheap misused brush.I doubt I’d order another brush, seeing how 2 arrived damaged.

A do it all brush
This is a more expensive version of the W&N Series 660 One-stroke that got discontinued in the 2010s. I worked at an art supply store when I first got out of college and the local art academy had every student buy that brush for their introductory class so I'm pretty familiar with it.The brush is all natural and and a kolinsky sable brush so it'll last as long as you keep in good condition. I buy a few each couple of years, so they're pretty worth it. If you want your brushes to last, just don't leave them in water for long periods of time. I just clean it and dry it after ever application and the brush will last you a couple of years.

Doesn't hold a point
Nice brush, but after a month of keeping it conditioned, it still won't keep a point. It has been regulated to a toss away

What I remember cinnamon tasting like in my youth
This blew me away when I smelled then tasted it. This is what I remember cinnamon tasting like in my youth. My parents were not wealthy nor foodies, so this was what was available. I will never go back to the less tasteful, toxic varieties. I will stick with Ceylon (C. verum) cinnamon.

Terrible brush
Used once, literally painted one short line. Didn’t like the brush, washed it as normal. Rubbish ! I bought 2, worse luck!

Not quality I expected from Winson and Newton
This brush looked fine with smooth bristles and right shape on opening. After first use - the bristles dried in a splayed shape with individual hairs ticking out all over the place. I am only using them for water colours so gentle strokes that gave no reason to fan bristles out. They hold very little water and it seems that the 'wet' shape is wrong and control of strokes is very difficult - sometimes water flow has gone before shape completed. I had bought a full starter set from somewhere else and thought they would be basic, then added this brush for its size expecting it to be superior quality - not so. Very disappointing and i have sent it back.
