Ortho Notes: A Clinical Examination Pocket Guide

I am a PT student and one of the therapists on my first clinical had one of these that I looked through a lot. It is extremely helpful and organized by body region. It is a good supplement for studying and referring to for differential diagnoses, exam techniques, orthopedic special tests, etc. My boyfriend borrowed it for chiropractic school and also found it helpful.

Saw my colleague using this, browsed through it and thought it was a nice one to keep for a quick review.Bought the kindle version though since I'm always carrying my smartphone.Overall it was good but the pictures and texts does not coincide/align with each other most of the time.(very evident especially on muscle pain referral patterns pictures and texts).For me it's not confusing since I know what the muscles are but for others that may not be familiar, it's misleading due to the texts and pictures not aligned.Hence the three stars.Please fix it.

I happened across this book a year ago and can't believe how much I refer to this book. It is an excellent reference during exams and I find myself thumbing through it during down time. The pictures, quick easy exam tips, easy follow reading and layout are all just a few of the characteristics that I truly appreciate. I always am coming across something that is a wonderful review and or something that I was not aware of. I LOVE the differential diagnosis in each section. Another quality of this book is that the pages are sturdy and waterproof. I'm sure as often as I have carried this around with me over the past year, the pages would have been rather dog-eared if only of paper product.

Good resource book

I love this product. It is durable, and full of useful information. It follows what I am learning in my Ortho class. Very helpful, with great pictures. I plan on taking this when I go on my clinicals.

This is the BEST! This is the best summary of musculoskeletal examinations for ortho conditions and has saved me on plenty of patients. All pertient special tests, manual muscle tests, and clinical signs are here in 1 place. VERY convenient and nice to keep handy!

This is a great pocket reference guide that contains special tests for and information about any joint or suspected injury. It's a great book to have in your medical library.

I purchased Ortho Notes 2 months ago. I use it during my clinical placements. It includes medical red flags, special test including some great pictures, pain referral patterns, ROM, neuromuscular relationships and differential diagnosis covering areas from the c-spine down to the feet. Being in school, using this book during patient assesment is very beneficial. It has tabs for each region of the body you are assessing and you can flip right to it.Its perfect for students, especially when you need to study on the go!

Great quick reference! Very impressed. I bought the digital copy and use the app from my phone and iPad. :-)
