These two extraordinary trainers have accomplished something very new to the horse world. They have put their egos aside in favour of the horse. Being acquainted with both of them through their previous works and clinics, I, naturally, fell prey for a time to attempting to discern the individual contributions. That was indeed my own ego at work. The book was intended and succeeds as one voice bringing the world of "Molecular Equitation" (suggested so many years ago in the art of Salvador Dali) to the human/horse world of today. 'The Alchemy of Lightness' / Molecular Equitation Model as outlined by Msr. Barbier and Dr. Katsamanis is an elegant introduction to humans of all stripes to the energy of human passion (whether or not said passion be horse affiliated). How fortunate for the horse world that each of them is available in this time period to provide greater understanding of the timeless principles that each of the authors allowed sovereignty over the presentation. Well done and kudos. As the title of this review suggests; it is my hope that this work is only the tip of the iceberg for the world of the horse and the humans that govern that world.

This book and the work it offers is crucial to taking our connection to and our communication with our horses, and in the world in general, to higher, deeper, and more expanded experiences. This work is transformational and takes us back to our true nature.

I liked this book. It's more of a general philosophical approach to riding rather than a how-to manual. You have to stick with it for the first few chapters, then it starts to make sense. Basically: Your life becomes what you envision. You can have a physical impact on your environment through your thoughts and emotions. They provide scientific evidence on how thoughts and emotions have a measurable impact (through electrical impulses and magnetic waves) on other beings. So embrace you thoughts and feelings and channel them to a good purpose! They make more of a difference than you thought.

Barbier uses his mind to achieve the lightness and beauty of his equestrian art. Many scientific studies are cited to try to explain the theory. The lessons from this book will help your horse and will help your general well being as well. Beautiful photography.

This book takes us to what is possible but so difficult to obtain in our relationship with horses. "The horse is waiting."

Very challenging. Sometimes I longed for a bit of mechanics, but a really intriguing invitation to freedom and lightness in riding and life.

The insights shared in this book transcend the training of the horse. It breaks the mold of most other books on riding, putting the welfare and needs of the horse first by teaching the necessity of becoming light in every way, both in and out of the saddle. Keep a pen at hand while reading to highlight a lot of information that you will want to read and reread until you fully grasp the concepts. It is a new way of thinking that will forever change the way I ride. Truly a remarkable book for every horse owner.

This is a beautiful book, on many levels. lt is a visual treat, with many beautiful photographs, but it is also a very inspiring book.Mr Barbier is trying to share that magical transformation which happens, all too rarely for me, when suddenly you are riding with out any effort at all, and your horse seems to be reading your mind, and doing all that you wish him to do.l have been lucky enough to experience this in the past, and by reading this book l am inspired to try to settle for nothing less in the future.l did have to stop reading this book half way through, to purchase his previous book "Dressage for the New Age”. l was finding the Alchemy of Lightness a little too esoteric, but the former book explained the more practical aspects of achieving lightness. On returning to this book l was reassured that l would be able to work towards my goal, that l already knew in my heart how to ride for lightness.l am not an accomplished rider, and success on a material level is not important. However, if l could reach a state of “oneness" with my horses l think that l would be a very happy and contented person : )This is an excellent book to inspire you to give more, and expect less.........and subsequently be happier with where you are now.

This book should be in every horse persons library. The Alchemy of lightness sits on my coffee table and I read a passage every day. It isn't a book you read and forget this is my daily meditation. Enlightening and thought provoking . When you are finished reading this book the way you look at riding a horse will change to riding being your souls path to enlightenment. If you are ready and so choose this path. I can't wait for his next book.
