The only reason this did not receive five stars is because I have not used it yet. I have assembled it and handled it and I am very impressed. I bought two of these as gifts and someone is not getting one, I'm keeping it. I was most impressed with the quality of the reel although the whole assembly worked as advertised. The gold is a beautiful color. This rod is small enough to ice fish with and rugged enough for perch size fish. Now be aware that this is advertised as "pen" shaped. I assumed that meant it was "pen" size. Wrong, It is about ten inches long. The reel is separate from the rod and really couldn't be considered a pocket item. The whole unit is a novelty item which should actually work. I believe one of the best uses for this rood and reel would be to mount it on a plaque for your favorite fisherman or present as an award for a fishing related event. It is after all more of a novelty. It is pretty too!

It works ! You can not catch a hugh fish on it but it woks great for small bass or croppy . We ride motorcycles so theres not much room to cary things so this pole works great for small spaces. My husbandtook his canoe out in the middle of Black lake and had a great time fishing

Seems fairly sturdy. I purchased it for a BOB only for in case the need arises. It sure is an awesome little deal and great idea. Cheap enough to take a chance on. The quality vs. Cost is exceptional.

Haven't tried yet. Shipping needs to be better, no instructions for assembly included... guess I'll figure it out...?

This is a Waste of money. Get the real thing! Very cheap made look like it was going to break when the wind blow. Caugth a baby trout and it broke already. So dont buy it!

This product is absolutely wonderful. It's small enough to carry anywhere, yet it has the necessary features of much larger ones. I recommend this.

I bought this pocket fish for my husband It is so cute. My new grandson inlaw wants one now. A nice Christmas gift for him. We are anxious to try it out and get a large fish to play with and see how long it will take to bring it in.
