perfect for a diy projects
This step down module helped me with my old rechargable batteries and use them in to something new. It is a great value for money an it is usefull for a many purposes. Small and eficient with a wide range of voltage. I am still new to electronics and it is very easy to use this little board. It comes in a box and individualy packed.

Does the job
I wanted a low cost, small, device to power some LEDs, these seemed to meet the requirements but the first example didn't allow the output to be adjusted, a second one proved to work as expected and the required voltage was set although a lot of turns of the potentiometer were required to achieve it.The rating reflects the absence of any documentation in the package meaning that there is a degree of trial and error in using these regulators.Having read the details on the product page I have determined that these regulators are extremely robust and very easy to set-up once you know what to do. As delivered the output voltage will always reflect the input voltage so, unless you have a 40V supply, it will be necessary to rotate the potentiometer several turns until the output voltage drops below the input.I inadvertently connected one the wrong way round but reversing the input polarity resulted in it working perfectly. As the original requirement as for one device I have a further seven for other projects.

Excellent value
I bought these because our Carson 14ch RC receiver outputs 5.9v but several electronic switches need 5v and some LEDs need 3.3v. They work perfectly. Be prepared to turn the adjustment screw a lot before hitting the voltage range you need then just fine adjustment required. They feel well made and testing with digital equipment shows just a tiny inaccuracy which is well within acceptable limits. Overall - excellent value and recommended.

Easy to use, step-down a wide range of voltages.
I got this for a little project to replace the 2 x AA batteries on some wireless xmas lights with 18650 rechargeable ones. My worry was that I wanted to go from about 3.8v to 3v and the specification here says there must be a 1.5v drop. I'm pleased to say that isn't correct. The module ships with zero voltage drop, so I was getting 4v out from a freshly charged 18650 batteries in parallel by default. After turning the potentiometer anticlockwise about 10 turns, the output voltage started dropping smoothly and I was able to set it exactly at 3v. Now the lights run for weeks and can be recharged at the end easily.

Excellent low cost product.
Had my doubts but these little beauties are absolutely brilliant, I purchased an 8 pack for peanut money and having set one up on the bench I was after an output voltage of 1.5v and sure enough that’s what I got, even after increasing the input from 5 to 12 volts the output held steady at 1.5 so perfect for my application of powering a bog standard atomic quartz clock movement which has been adapted to provide its 1 second pulse feeding a divider circuit which poweres a huge puls-syn-netic public clock which must remain reliable and accurate so this little power supply gets my 100% approval.

Build quality is not good. Brittle plastic.
So I will warn you now the build quality is not good, the housing for the transformer fell apart. It cracked and just came apart. I knownits only 12 is vaults, but it still should be covered. Some of the adjustment screws are also intermittent. One of them I had to actually get a electric screwdriver and wait for it to change the voltage. I'm notmsure what that was about but it was odd. They do work for the best part. But I'm just not sure if I can trust it to keep the voltage stable. Or of the durability of the product. So I will say they do work for now, I will update this should that change.

Generally appear to work very well.
I've set up 3 of the 8 so far (9V, 5V and 3V3) .The multi-turn pot is very easy to adjust and the voltage appears very stable.I haven't looked at the DC waveform coming out but should be OK. My applications are all much less than an amp so I can't comment on it's current capability.I needed to use a bit larger tip than normal on my (50W) soldering iron to solder wires on - the contacts appear to act as good heatsinks!

Comfortable at 1 amp
Does what it says on the tin with the exception of load. My opinion they are comfortable running at 1 amp but will let you down after a while running 2 amp.
