Bottomless Portafilter for La Pavoni Europiccola Professional Stradivari Lever Espresso Machine with 2 Cup filter Basket Included

I assume that if you're looking for a bottomless portafilter, you already know why you should get one. With that out of the way, GET THIS ONE!Below are a four reasons why:1. I searched for quite some time and even with shipping, this is the least expensive option out there for a La Pavoni w/ 51mm basket size (Post 1999 Europiccola, Stradivari -- the one I have, Professional, etc). I also appreciate that the seller didn't provide "free shipping" by increasing the price of the product. The shipping charged from Italy to the US is VERY reasonable and closely matches actual shipping charges.2. Quick shipping. I ordered May 4 and got it May 11. That may not sound particularly quick, but it came from Italy and was delayed in France for four days because of the CCP Wohan Virus. Even with that it only took a week to go half-way around the world.3. Fit and finish is good to very good and equals or exceeds the fit and finish of the portafilter that comes from La Pavoni. The plastic handle is slightly different in shape from the original with a 1.24 inch (32mm) long chamfer growing from .87 inch (22mm) to a 1.1 inch (28mm) cylindrical handle. (See the seller's picture if this description is confusing.) The original from La Pavoni is tapered along the entire length from 21mm to 28mm. Both handles are the same length and I like the look of both.4. The holder and basket are very slightly magnetic (like the La Pavoni original portafilter and basket) so appear to be highly polished, cold formed 316 stainless steel. The portafilter is heavy walled, well proportioned and quite sturdy.If you've never used a bottomless portafilter, you're in for a treat with this one. And by a treat, I mean the much better espressos you will be brewing now that you can actually SEE how your grind, distribution, tamp, pull length, pull weight and other factors affects the espresso that comes out of your machine. Beyond that, it's just cool to watch! :)If you're thinking about it, stop procrastinating and just get this. You'll be glad you did!

This is very nice to have for anyone starting with a LP espresso machine and willing to better understand the extraction process. It mercilessly exposes defects in the extraction, especially evenness in puck preparation, and points to what needs improvement. It'll also minimize the contact between coffee and metal, sending it straight to your cup and thus preserving crema and temperature. The handle is sturdy and comfortable to use. This portafilter also comes with a spring which can be easily removed if for any reason you don't like it.

This bottomless portafilter works great in my Stradivari. My only complaint is I couldn't get the handle off of it; I had a nice set of wooden upgrade components and now I'm sort of a mixed set with this black handle I can't get off. I'm not sure it would be threaded the same as the other portafilter even if I did get it off. But beyond that, it works great and it's a definite upgrade!

I was very surprised that I got this within 6 days or ordering from Italy to California. The portafilter feels very nice. Handle is slightly thicker than the stock one and has a retention spring to hold your portafilter in place.

I love this! My shots have improved immensely, especially my ramping techniques. Quality construction, and plating, comes with precision portafilter. Highly recommend. By sure you order the right size as they come in 51 or 58mm (La Pavoni Europiccola uses 51mm). Made in Italy

The media could not be loaded. The item is beautiful and appears to be well made. Unfortunately, the fit is not good enough, even with new gaskets. Coffee squirts everywhere under pressure - see video. Disappointing.

Well made, looks great, works great. Fair price.Did not take very long to get here, even though it was shipped in the middle of theCovid-19 Pandemic.

Item not engineered to LaPavone specs. Leaks because it not seal.
