Saved my floor
I bought these just after a total remodel of my kitchen in late 2020. I put one under my sink, one under my dishwasher, and one near the water intake for my refrigerator. I set each one on a folded paper towel. About a month ago the one behind my refrigerator went off. I had actually forgotten about them so I thought at first the sound was coming from my fridge. Turns out the intake hose had started leaking and I was able to find it and fix it immediately. This saved me from damage to my hardwood floor. Many times worth the money I spent!I don't understand how some say they can't hear the alarm. I suppose if someone is hard of hearing it might seem quiet to them, but my entire household heard ours go off. Also, I doubt these alarms are designed to be dunked under water. They are designed to detect leaks. Having a paper towel under mine made it go off exactly when it should - when the towel got wet enough to trigger it.

Very reliable.
I had hoped to never need to use them but I placed them in my basement near the hot water heater. Fortunately I heard them beeping while I was in my kitchen and I caught a slow leak start, so I was able to call my plumber before a mess was created.

These Alarms Are A Must Have
We had 4 year old plank floors in our home, when our refrigerator's ice maker leaked. The water went under the planks, without our knowing it, resulting in our whole house having to be re-floored. One of these little devices would have saved us so much money and inconvenience. We now have a unit under every sink, lavatory and appliance that's attached to water, in our home and rental property. The alarm under the kitchen sink in our rental recently went off at 4 a.m.. Thank goodness, it saved us from having a repeat of the same problem. We now tell everyone that they should get these alarms.

Put it on a paper towel
I tested both by putting them on a paper towel and then dripping water onto it. Both beeped loudly. There now is one under the dishwasher and one under the washing machine (both sitting on folded paper towels). As many have noted, the hole does not align perfectly with the beeper. But you'll definitely hear it, unless you maybe have it under a water tank in a crawlspace or under a washer in a garage or outdoor utility room.

These are my favorite water alarms.
I have several different brands at all potential leak locations in the house. Under each sink, behind each toilet, near washing machine, dishwasher, and refrigerator ice maker. What makes these great is the fact that they are easy to open to replace the 9v battery. They simply unscrew the top and bottom. They are loud and the batteries last over 2 years, but I change them out yearly. I have replaced all my other brands with these. A small cost to prevent major water damage issues, especially on wood frame homes or homes with wood floors or carpet. Water leak detectors have saved me on at least 3 occasions from under sink leaks that my wife and I caught early. Don't be cheap and wait till you have damage. These could save you thousands of dollars in repairs and headaches.

Does the job
Not enough decibels, especially if you put one in your attic or basement, it is highly likely that the beep noise will go unnoticed. I decided to use it, sine we use the basement regularly..

Simple solution to water on the floor.
Tested these, and they work very well. I noted that some reviews cited "not loud", but they are! I did make a mistake intially and did not have the battery seated properly and the lid screwed back on completely, not so loud. BUT, I noticed that the little beeper did not line up exactly with the small grate on the lid. After adjusting the battery the lid screwed completly back into position - grates aligned -- Voila... very loud. Note, I could not establish battery life since I only installed them today. That said... a cost of a battery verses $$$ of water damage. You do the math.So overall... great price, fast delivery... and they do the job! (So far)

Great product .
I don't usually do a review on anything I buy. I will make an exception on this as it is such a valuable tool for the home or anywhere water is present. What I want to say is that some people say the alarm is not loud enough. It is very loud to hurt ears if you are close. It is certainly loud enough to hear anywhere in my house. Upstairs or downstairs. The thing is, what happens is , if a person does not screw the lid on properly the plastic will cover the alarm and it will then be much quieter . There is a small circular hole in the lid that must line up with the alarm. If you get the wires for the battery crooked then the lid will not screw down all the way and the plastic does not line up making the alarm much more quiet . I love these alarms and will be buying 4 more to put near other water sources .

Long battery life, detects large water spots
As electronic guru I wanted to know what is inside and if it is well designed in order to trust the detector for this important job. So, I opened the box. I can confirm that there is no battery consumption until the water is present to the metal sensors and if you install a good quality battery it will last for many years. The 3 sensors are placed in a triangle and the water need to be present between two of them (only the one that are closer to each other). This expects a water spot larger than 2 inches in diameter and high enough to reach the sensor, 2 mm above the bottom surface. It is done to not touch somehow the conductive floor that will falsely activate the alarm but it requires much more water around and it is possible the alarm to be activated too late. The sound is loud enough to be heard everywhere in a large house. Good product at good price. I will buy more knowing how to modify them to be more efficient.
