can i just say that these are the best dang lava rocks i have ever seen!!!!!! worked like a CHARM. truly an incredible product. 10/10 would recommend to a friend, relative, acquaintance, even an arch nemesis, because EVERYONE deserves to have a lava rock experience as amazing as mine. PICTURE THIS: you're sitting out on your brand new deck on a chilly July evening. you're surrounded by all of your favorite things- friends, family, pets, an ice cold beer (or a lukewarm beer, or a Ginger Ale its really YOUR preference), but you suddenly notice that everyone seems cold, and they are ready to wrap up the evening. if only there was a classy way to start a fire!!! ONLY ONE THING CAN SAVE THE NIGHT AND KEEP YOUR SUAREE GOING ALL NIGHT LONG- AND THAT IS RED 3/4 INCH LAVA ROCK. these lava rock work like a CHARM. pieces were the PERFECT size and they filled the pit PERFECTLY. they added a nice touch to the traditional fire pit scene, and for that i will be forever thankful. The rocks are not uniform in size. Actually, I didn’t expect to see so many small rocks. They actually fell through the holes in the base of my barbecue. I had to layer the larger rocks on the bottom of my grill to prevent the smaller ones from falling through. Even with that said, it works OK.

After adding the lava rock to our fire pit and turning it on, we were shocked a few minutes later to hear a loud bang. We ducked and then noticed a lava rock had been shot like a projectile into our patio chair pillow. All I can say is we are thankful no one was sitting there. As you can see from the photo, the rock burned a hole and wedged itself right into the pillow. Thankfully it did not burn itself right into someone's face! It did this with that one rock that night. We cautiously sat by the fire for another hour that night waiting for another bang. Luckily it din't happen again. We haven't turned it on since and I'm a bit nervous to do so.

The size is from a dime to a quarter but no bigger. I thought I would get larger rocks but was disappointed they were so small. I was going for bigger because I thought it would be a bigger affect in the fire pit. These rocks are the same as you can get anywhere in local stores.
