Revised
This tape grips like painters tape or that of a wet paper towel. Used to tape one wire down and it kept coming lose. Revised*** Company was concerned I may have received a bad batch of roll and wanted me to try another roll and compare it to what I’m currently using. I did a side by side with my current Gaffers and to my surprise this came out on top. I’m glad I gave them a chance to change my mind, I will buy again! Only thing I will say is don’t let the tape touch each other on the sticky side. You have a better chance breaking up concrete.

Does the job.
Lightweight, tears easily for needed length, holds securely, removes easily without leaving residue.

adhesive isn't overly sticky even after long applications
I picked this tape for the cost and really it's width. After applying it to several surfaces during events we had at church, I got the smart idea to use it as a giant scribble strip on my mixing console. I've applied it and pulled it up following several channel assignments and reassignments on the mixer. I've seen no issues with the tape being overly sticky and it's on par with more expensive Gaffer's tapes that I've used in the past. I plan on picking up other colors as well. As a note, it's not great with markers! they fade immediately and are easy to transfer from the tape back to your hand or clothing. So just be aware of that. Great tape tho!

Horrible Product
This was not gaffers tape more like paper tape. Purchase to tape wires and red carpet for photo booth. Total trash dont know how they have so many good reviews

It is cloth backed tape, but the adhesive isn’t true rubber based.
This stuff is pretty thin for advertising itself as “real gaffers tape.” Unfortunately the sticky adhesive isn’t all that great on some surfaces and leaves some on occasion which isn’t a big deal so long as you just use a wad of the tape you just pulled up to dab at the bits of adhesive remaining on whatever it was you’d run the tape across. I don’t think the adhesive is a true rubber based adhesive and is likely some kinda synthetic based sticky stuff. True gaff tape is a rubber based adhesive and so long as you don’t leave it stuck down for terribly long or extended time in the direct sunlight during an outdoor show in the sun mid July on a flat black unshaded stage never leaves a gooey mess. I am not saying this stuff does, but I suspect that it wouldn’t perform well in the conditions I described above. What it does do well is stick cables and wires down indoors on smooth or reasonably smooth floors as long as you know it will be very temporary, as in a couple three hours before you strike your gear and push your crap out to your hauler to return to your shop. Those attempting to use this for long term cable runs across commercial carpet and expecting it to pull up in a couple months or whatever will be sadly disappointed. That isn’t really a good practice to do anyway, but that is a whole different subject regarding professional stage craft or lack there of. For cheap, blow and go, one off gigs this stuff is fine and beyond the occasional bits of stickum here and there its only other negative ding against it in my experience is that it is a bit on the thin side and once in awhile will rip in an unexpected manner which isn’t a deal breaker at under twenty five bucks a roll for 60 yards. Locally we buy ProGaff or other nationally recognized brands for forty to forty five bucks for a three inch 60 yard roll so the savings more than make up for the short comings of this “budget” four inch wide gaff tape. If you need some thicker material that has better deployed duration on your stage and are worried about cleaning up a little sticky bit of remaining adhesive from your cords or whatever, then I would recommend breaking out the platinum card and blowing the additional cash for some Pro Gaff or another national brand because this isn’t the product for you. It does the job for what it is intended at a fair price in my opinion and I want to remind you that you don’t buy a Geo Metro and expect it to feel like a Rolls Royce when you drive around in it do you? I rest my case and hereby end my drivel on the subject of tape. Merry Christmas to all or whatever you are celebrating this time of year.

Works great, useful width... nice price.
I do sound work, and feel pretty strongly about keeping cables secure... especially where foot traffic is involved. So we burn through a fair amount of gaffer's tape, mostly to secure cables to the floor, and to a lesser extent, speaker poles, light trusses, etc. Stuff marketed as "gaffer's tape" is not all created equal, but this product acts enough like the "real thing" for our uses; it has a good degree of 'stick' onto surfaces like floors & (with care) walls, but releases cleanly. It tears pretty well, but if you spend a lot of time ripping your tape into strips, etc, you might find that this doesn't tear as easily or cleanly as your favorite brand of true 'broadway grade' gaffers' tape. YMMV. I like the stuff, and at 55yds for approximately $20 I find it to be well worth the price. I particularly like the 3" width for securing cables to the floor. That is wide enough to use a single piece to secure small-to-medium diameter cables (a single 14 gauge extension cord, one or two mic cables, etc) along the length of the run, as we typically do when crossing a traffic area. I find that saves us time and material vs. laying two or three overlapping strips of 2" tape to do the same job. For what we do with it, that makes this tape last longer and cost less per gig than when we have tried to save a few dollars by buying narrower tape.

Excellent tape!
Very happy with this gaffe tape. Does a good job holding down my cables and cords to the floor. Large roll, great value!

Floor paint peeled
Used this to tape down a roller derby track and it took up some of the old floor paint on the arena’s cement floor. But it didn’t leave any residue and adhesion was good.
