It did help with aligning 10" piers for the shed
Using 4 of these I was able to line up 4 of my 6 piers. Then tamp those to keep them in place. Then line up the final 2 piers with the 2 adjacent piers. So as an alignment tool it was exact. The downside is how I had to remove them during my pour because I needed the tops below the lowest level allowable with the Plumbatube on the forms. But that was just my need so I could keep the floor at a reasonable height. At first I tried 8" forms but they fit too loosely to be of use. I probably had the smaller size of 8" forms. Both 8" and 10" have a large and a small size so they can be shipped inside of the other. I'd stay away from the 8" totally. Also, Lowes does not carry 10" though they did say they would order. Home-depot carries 8,10,12. Sheds Unlimited recommends 10" for sheds anyway. In hard clay probably overkill.

Product works OK - Customer service doesn't exist
My local big box store has four different sizes of 10" tube (they nest to reduce size during shipping). These work great on the two largest sizes, OK on the next size down and are an almost complete failure on the smallest size tube. I don't know how you could ever use this product on an 8" tube. Despite screwing the alignment tool to the tubes, the weight of the 2x4 spacers is enough to slide the tool down the tube - leading to misalignment. You could cut additional lumber to prop up the tool, but if you are going to start going through that much trouble, what's the point of spending $20 each on these tools? The product itself get 3.5 stars, but Plumbatube's customer service was non-existant which brings my overall rating down to 2 stars.

Great product but the price is absolutely crazy for one ring. The typical homeowner/consumer would use these to form a perfect square/rectangle for their deck. Get with the program and offer a package deal at a savings..

Deck addition to my house
I have been meaning to build a deck addition at the back of my house for a while now but kept putting it off, and I was not sure I could do it - I am not very good with my hands. I did a lot of research on how to build a deck but there seemed to be a lot of mathematical stuff to figure out, and I was never any good with numbers. I was a little skeptical about purchasing this product at first. I like to see reviews first but it was reasonably priced so I decided to give it a try. I decided that even if it turned out to be junk, it was worth a try for the price. The plumbatube made my life a lot easier. My deck project had a few hiccups, but I think it would have had a lot more if I hadn't purchased the plumbatube. Would recommend this to any homeowner who has been putting a deck project off for fear of screwing it up or worrying if your wife is gonna tell you it's not level.
