I don't have any professional use for this tool, I got it mostly to see about making it easy to label and serialize gear that my astronomy club lends out which is mostly metal or plastic bodies and often round etc. I figured this would look much cleaner and be more difficult to remove or accidentally wear off than a label. This says it prints on nearly all surfaces and while I haven't tried it on them yet it seems like it should print just fine on the metal tubes of telescopes etc. I'm waiting until I feel confident that I won't mess it up before trying it on the real gear. It's not terribly complicated to figure out and after about 5 minutes of carefully looking at all of the menus etc I had my first print, but it's not 100% fool proof without a few trial runs. I do wish there was a little more of an instruction manual. It comes with a quick start guide but that's about it. My primary complaint is that they don't clarify exactly what kind of ink cartridge I can buy for replacements. I've seen some on Amazon that print with food safe ink and I think that'd be really cool to be able to use this to print on a cake/cupcake etc, but I can't tell if any of those will work/fit in this printer. The USB stick through me off a bit as well and the fact that it's orange almost made me think it might be a firmware update program etc, but no...best I can tell it's simply an empty USB stick you can use to save and load templates or images for use in the print gun. Looking around online I couldn't find any additional information about this specific device or the OS/UI installed on it. So, lack of documentation is my biggest nit, but overall it is fairly easy to use and the print quality is quite nice so I still gave it 4 stars.
