Glasstic Designed Shatterproof Glass Water Bottle - 16oz - Double Walled - Flip Cap Sports Water Bottle

First of all, I love the color and design...it's not just your average boring water bottle. The handle is very convenient and isn't bulky so it doesn't get in the way. It easily folds down. For some reason I really like the spout that you drink out of. I'm kind of an idiot and I'm constantly spilling things on myself (especially when drinking), but this is the perfect size for me to wrap my lips around and easily drink the water. It's also not annoying sucking because it's not like a straw that you have to purse your lips for. You can lock the cap which is a nice feature. My only complaint is that the actual glass cylinder that holds the water isn't very big. I feel like I'm constantly refilling the water bottle throughout the day. It looks like it has a larger capacity because of the plastic around it.

What do I mean by this?1) It is very well designed, with that outer wall which slips off so you can clean the inner bottle efficiently (who needs a bottle which gets dirty after a few weeks? I don't!--this one stays clean).2) It is by far the prettiest bottle on the block, which means I am going to have to get a bunch more for my friends who will love it too--it comes in all sorts of designs, for men and for women!3) It is the perfect bottle for workouts as it holds 16 oz. of liquid. By the time you are done, you can fill it up and start over.4) It is a great bottle for sitting around, relaxing and reading, too. You don't always have to be working out.The glass which is used in the inner bottle reminds me of borosilicate glass, which is like Corningware. I don't know what this shatterproof glass is actually made of, but on Amazon's site it says that it is comprised of a "Pure glass insert inside a protective plastic shell - BPA/BPS Free, lead free, cadmium free, toxin-free". That is a very reassuring claim. Another thing I noted is that if you happen to break the inner glass (which would be in a situation when you had that glass out of the plastic outer shell, probably, the company, Glasstastic, states that it will replace your broken glass bottle for free.I have a photo on this review where you can see the inside bottle half way out of the outer plastic bottle. I have also taken a photo of the cleaning instructions I received.I love this bottle. This is the kind of bottle which I would gasp with delight over if someone gave it to me as a gift. In other words, makes a great gift!I received this bottle in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

It doesn't get better than this. Everything about this product is perfectly designed. I hate the price however. I used mine all last Spring thru Christmas. Then I left it in my car on a -15 degree night & the inner glass broke. The outer plastic contained all the broken glass & water so was no mess to clean. I went to buy another one but it was too pricey so I bought not one, or two but 4 different glass containers trying to find one equally as good & none of them were sufficient! They didn't have plastic on the outside to protect the inner glass. (I refuse to use plastic for my water.) The sippy lids on the others were too big (have to wipe off mouth after each "sip") or too small ( have to hold your head high up while it water trickles into mouth). They didn't have a moveable hook to use in multiple situations. They didn't lock lid in place when traveling & throwing it in the back seat so they don't leak. They didn't have extra soft plastic ring on the bottom to give better shock proofing to prevent breaking. They didn't have a big enough opening to easily fill & wash. And more I'm forgetting. So after spending twice as much as I would have just buying another or these, I discovered I couldn't live without the Glasstic Shatterproof glass/plastic water bottle. It even fits perfectly into my car's cup holder: not too big or too narrow. I also unscrew the bottom plastic part & insert a $10 bill folded up so where ever I go I have money on me (as most women's pants don't have pockets or the pockets are too small to trust having money in & I often don't carry a purse whereas I always carry my water bottle).

I originally said "Love, love, love these water bottles. I have 4 of them...", but I'm changing my assessment as a result of owning them for several years. I'm not sure why, but the caps become increasingly hard to unscrew. I'm almost 74 years old but am very strong since I workout all the time. I can easily throw a 50 pound bag of bird seed over my shoulder and carry it. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that I could barely get the caps off the water bottles even using a rubber pad to provide better traction. Thus, I have to believe that the average person as he/she ages will find it very difficult to manage, thus defeating the purpose of encouraging drinking more water. In addition, the plastic loop that can swing up and down on the cap, if it is snapped down to secure it in that position, will, when you go to unscrew the cap (or screw it on), eventually scratch the very pretty designs on the plastic insulating wrap around the glass bottle. Doesn't harm anything, but not so pretty anymore. Nevertheless, the bottles themselves work just fine, and so I give them 3 stars. But the issue with caps that are almost impossible to unscrew makes them of somewhat limited use for many people.

I like the idea of this product more than the actual product. I like that the glass is protected by plastic, which is why I bought it. But it's so bulky and really doesn't carry enough water. I've only used it a couple times. And have never dropped it, but I imagine that if I did drop it, the plastic would likely break. The material just doesn't seem very forgiving. My biggest issue is when I washed it for the first time. I cut the cr@p out of my hand. The plastic edges are extremely sharp and, when I twisted my hand to wash the inside of the plastic, I received a couple deep cuts on the side of my thumb and edge of my hand. It's a legitimate hazard.

Best water bottle ever. Nice to look at, I got the green one. No plastic taste especially when the water gets warm. I've dropped it down a long flight of concrete stairs by accident and when I got to the bottom and checked it out the thing was still perfect! Could believe it. And I've dropped it a number of other times which would have broken my other contiguous containers and certainly regular glass.The handle and lid still look new and function very well and this unit doesn't leak from anywhere. Basic flip cap is easy to keep clean and use. Now I just need another one so I can carry more clean water through the day.

This is the prettiest water bottle I have ever had. It is the most complicated to take apart and wash. It holds the least amount of water for a bottle that size and it is not very well insulated so the water does not stay cold very long in the summer. It is pretty tho, but I gave it away because I need a functional bottle for my hikes (more water, less weight) and can waive the pretty ...

This product should have 5 stars if they just provide a SIMPLE screw cap with handle. Any child can operate a screw cap. This sport cap is WAY over engineered. The lock is hard to move left and right. And you KNOW the cap WILL leak sooner than later - the only thing stopping the water from flowing is two hard plastic mating surfaces.... one is a tube, and the other is larger tapered tube. Just lousy. My kid has problems with the lock and keeps asking me to open it.Other than that, the plastic exterior is genius. A 4 ft drop didn't break the bottle inside.

Love this beautifully designed bottle! The drinking sprout is easy to get too and you can consume a large amount of water in one gulp. I like the lock cap design with the knowing that my bottle wouldn't leak and it's easy to open with a slide and a flip. The carry handle is an added bonus, especially when my hands are full!

Very functional but the lock feature looks like it's in reverse (it displays locked when unlocked and vice versa). My son says that the covered symbol is the one in use, but my brain doesn't work like that. With all the fuss about plastic, this water bottle is a healthy choice and very sturdy. My son uses it at school.
