It was a nice little pack considering I didn't have too much soil that I had to spread it on. I didn't want to have to buy a huge bag from a local hardware store. Love it.

Used to make my own mix. Great value, consistently is ok, it’s very dusty. It’s almost weighless but when wet very heavy. It’s little balls. And plenty to make a large batch mix.

This perlite works very well for my plants. It is not powdery. It has nice size chunks of perlite to help absorb water from the soil for my plants. My complaint is with the size of the bag in comparison to the price of the product. My advice is to make sure you compare size to the amount of money you are spending. I think I got lucky because I got perfectly textured perlite. But the size of the bag is way too small for the amount of money I paid. I think it's better to shop at a brick and mortar store for perlite. That way you can see what you getting for your money. You can feel the bag and tell the ratio of powder vs chunks of perlite. I was concerned for one of my plants so I ordered online. But if it's not a plant emergency I suggest picking perlite in person. You can compare this 1 quart bag compared to a 16oz bottle of water in the picture. This quart size bag was 6.99 online. But at the brick and mortar store cost is 8.99 for 10 times as much quality product. That's the only reason for my 3 star rating.
