OFF! Backyard Citronella Scented Candle, Ambiance Enhancing Centerpiece, Burns for up to 25 Hours, 8 oz (Pack of 2)

I have been these Off Backyard candles for years. I buy them during the mosquito season here in LA. This has been my experience: PROS: 1. Minimizes Mosquito activity - Citronella candles mask our scent from Mosquitoes. So this is camouflage from Mosquitoes. It does not repel them. If you light these an hour or so before going out, it would have enough time to circulate outside and make the mosquitoes move on as well. 2. Pleasant fragrance - They do smell very nice and make your backyard smell great. 3. Ambiance lighting - Great for outdoor parties as a table light as well as hide your guests from mosquitoes. 4. Lasts a long time - I light my candles every day at dusk and dawn and blow them out when we go inside. So about 3-4 hours a day lasts about a week. 5. Repels flies - I noticed that flies did not go near the area around these candles. It seems to repel flies. Mosquitoes would fly near the candles but would not bite us most of the time. CONS: 1. Does not repel mosquitoes - Unlike DEET, it does not actually repel mosquitoes. But if you have a heavy concentration of mosquitoes, you probably should use this in conjunction with bug spray. SUMMARY: Yes, it works. But, you have to leave it lit outside for some time before going out. It does not repel mosquitoes, just hides you from them. It repels flies though.

Great for the price, it really hasn't worked for me I have a bad mosquito in my area of Sacramento California and it doesn't seem to be detering to mosquitoes

These work great outside my kitchen door but they are rather small so they don’t last as long as I’d like. Typical citronella scent, which is not unpleasant.

These OFF! Backyard Citronella Candles are exactly what I needed for my patio. The scent is pleasant — not too strong — and really does help keep mosquitoes and other bugs away while we’re sitting outside. I love that they burn evenly and last a long time; the 25-hour burn time feels accurate. The candles also look nice as a centerpiece, so they add to the ambiance while being functional. The 8 oz size is perfect for a few hours at a time, and having two in the pack is convenient for larger tables or multiple areas. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy again for summer evenings.

I was going to give this as a gift for birthday to someone that sits outside daily. However. Candle received all broken and pieces melted on side of holder 😩

I bought these after getting super frustrated at how ineffective all my bug repellant bracelets are. We live really close to the river (it's literally at the end of our street), and we have very humid summers here. Even my monthly mosquito service is pretty ineffective here, so it's super irritating when giving boxing lessons from my garage and I can't do anything about the mosquitos. These candles do a pretty good job. I haven't been bitten yet since getting these. I light two candles and place them at the outside of my garage, then turn fans on inside the garage. So far that has worked well.

Candle came but the wick didn’t come out of the top. Then the candle fell out of the holder in one chunk and then the wick wouldn’t go back into its hole. Total waste of money. I deserve a refund.

The product works. I use the candle outdoors and I feel comfortable of course within a close distance

You can never go wrong with anything from Off. They are beautiful with the black base and keep the mosquitos away
