Does work repelling white-tailed deer
I purchased this with the hopes it would detract pesky deer away from my mother's flower garden, which is good sized and has a multitude of pretty plants during summer months.I must say, so far, it does appears to be working. . .One of the deers' favorite snacks in my mother's flower garden are her hostas. Before I purchased these (I bought two units), the deer had been incessantly munching the hosta leaves, and with some plants, not a single leaf remained (I attached some photos of the eaten hostas and the placements of these units). After I put these up and they were turned on. . .the deer have not touched any plants--not even one leaf. One time, though, after instillation, the device didn't get turned on in the evening (they get turned off during the day to conserve battery power), so that night some of the leaves were eaten by the pain-in-the-butt deer. But when these are on, the deer do seem to stay away.If you are wondering if this sound can be heard, on the highest setting (#7), I think most people would be able to detect it, but on the lower settings, not as much. I have VERY sensitive hearing, so when I have this set for deer (setting #7 seems to work), I can hear this about 20 feet away; and the closer I am to it, egad, it isn't pleasant, makes my brain vibrate. But that is a good thing, for if it irritates me, it surely should irritate deer whose hearing must be much more sensitive than mine. And being that this only gets used at night when deer are most problematic, the sound it makes is of no issue, for the sound can't penetrate the house. And as for the sound, it is a very high pitched one, which may be too high for many to hear.I do have a couple of minor complaints: the vague instructions, the lack of a DC charger, and not being able to tell when the unit is fully charged or even charging when using a DC charger. The settings dial goes from 1 to 7, but the instructions aren't very specific--overly vague--with what setting repels which animals. The instructions say 1-5 rodents and 6-7 wild animals. Rodents are wild animals, and what animals exactly are they referring to with the 6-7 setting. And what about birds? Birds aren't rodents, but I think the setting for them is somewhere in the lower numbers which they state are for rodents. A little confusing. . .I have another brand of ultrasonic repeller, and they are pretty specific with what setting repels what: like what setting works for mice/rodents, or birds, or small mammals like rabbits, cats and small dogs or for larger animals like large dogs up to deer. A little more information explaining each setting would make this much easier to use. I think maybe because of this confusion, not sure what setting is for what, many people think this does not work. With my guess, the smaller the animal, the lower the setting (number) should be, but am not sure. Also, it would also be nice if this unit came with a DC charger. On the web page they say, you can buy a "normal" DC charger to charge it. Well. . .what exactly is a "normal" DC charger? I had several DC chargers from several devices, but only one fit the DC charging port on the bottom of this unit. When plugged in, I wasn't sure it if was actually charging, for there is no way to tell--no lights, no nothing to let you know when it is charging and when fully charged. My other ultrasonic repeller of a different brand came with a USP cable; and when charging, a red light would blink on the front and would keep blinking until fully charged which then the red light would stay on. Having a feature like that makes charging so much easier. Furthermore, I must add, while charging the unit with my DC charger, the ultrasonic device got VERY warm around the battery compartment. Not sure if that is normal, but I was concerned that maybe my DC charger wasn't quite compatible with this device and was causing it to overheat. There are lots of stories about rechargeable batteries blowing up or catching fire, so I can't help be a little worried. Having an included DC charger would eliminate confusion or worry of this nature. Of course, a person can forgo any worry of overheating by just charging via the solar panels on the top of the unit. Ever since the first charge with my DC charger (when I first got the unit), there has been no need to use my DC charger again, so the solar panels must work, at least to some extent. In all, I can't say how well this will work for smaller critters, but for deer, this does seem to be effective. It also seems to be fairly well built and should endure the elements during the growing season. But since the instructions are a little too vague and there is no DC charger and that I have no idea when this unit if fully charged, I can't give this more than four stars.

Works excellent but needs lots of sun!
I was having a SERIOUS problem with all my shrubs were vanishing because of deer, I had many repellers, but still the deer were a problem. Then I added this into the yard and finally the blooms stopped vanishing !! While other solar repellents worked just fine for getting rid of chipmunk and rabbits, nothing was keeping the deer away, for whatever reason this one does! I don't know the science of it, but I know it works! And it's the first repellent that doesn't make ears ring. Others would cause such ringing, even my daughter could hear them through walls, but this one doesn't bother us at all! I place it several feet away for the biggest view point for alarming the deer and it really works! The ONLY reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the battery tends to die if it's a cloudy day. It doesn't work as well if it's not sunny everyday. But other than that I am very happy with it and the shrubs look amazing!

Tis the season!
I originally bought this because we have a major raccoon and deer problem. Since installing it in our side garden, we’ve seen a huge improvement. The deer are staying at the edge of our property now instead of venturing closer. We also keep our trash cans on the side. A few times a week we would see some raccoons digging in our cans. However, since we have kept it on the recommended settings it seems to be taking care of both of the deer and raccoons. 5/5 I would recommend this to my friends. It was super simple to put together too!

Works well to designate certain areas off limits to pets!
This product seems to be working well with keeping my dogs out of certain parts of my yard. They were digging my front yard all to peices which was driving me nuts because it was so muddy and an eyesore. My 2 year old could not step off the porch without getting in a mudhole. I already have an invisible dog fence but it is so costly and a pain to move the line. This item works good and is affordable.

This device does not repel anything.
Purchased this device to repel cats from my flowerbed. It does not deter them one bit. I would NOT recommend this product! If I could I would give it a zero star rating. Also have a coyote, squirrel and a raccoon walking by it.

Lousy product. It’s junk!
This sensor has been in same area but rotated on occasion. It would give a light sonic wave that you could hear . Now after a month the sensor doesn’t have the same effect. Not sure why the sound has stopped! I live in a area with barely rain and is always sunny. Of course amazon says my return time has expired!!!

Zombie rabbit attractor
Device was easy to charge and set up. However, it does not repel small rabbits from cool weather vegetables and annual flowers. Even when I turn the intensity all the way up to max, all, especially the flower foliage gets relentlessly trimmed!

It works on animals like foxes, wild boar and deer!
I used to collect poops from foxes roaming around our backyard every night which stopped after installing this deterrent device.
