To get the most out of it, consider using the DJI Mimo app. It unlocks the advanced features, makes controls easier to manage, and helps you learn what the gimbal can really do. While the basic functions are straightforward, it does take a bit of time to learn how to use everything efficiently. Once you do, it becomes second nature. This is a very good stabilizer. The videos are smooth and of excellent quality. It's easy to use, has good battery life, and the integrated tripod is very practical. The built-in light is a great bonus and significantly improves the lighting when recording.

Cool gadget. Improved sports videos by a lot. Specifically using it to record my son’s lacrosse games. Pro tip add monopod. Makes horizontal panning even more stable and quick and a lot less fatigue on the arm. Still playing with tracking.. when multiple players pile in and then disperse it often loses original subject tracked and follows another player. Same uniform and multiple helmets of same color does not help.

This gimbal is great for shooting with my iPhone. Only reason I took off a star was the battery. Recently, I'm not sure why it dies even when I don’t use it. It’s possible I’m not charging it correctly but not sure. It’s excellent in tracking and stability is great. It doesn’t weigh a lot so it’s comfortable to hold. Set up is easy just read the instructions that come with the gimbal. There is no remote control and it is compatible with most phones. Overall the functionality is great and it does what it’s supposed to do. I recommend

My husband just started making YouTube videos and wanted this gimbal while recording on the go. It’s amazing how it follows you when you move around! One thing he couldn’t get to work though was the multifunctional module that tracks you remotely. The light on the unit was constantly red, and none of the hand signals to activate it worked. Assuming it was incompatible with his iPhone 15, he was ready to return it and buy the cheaper Osmo model without this unit (though the loss of the light would have been disappointing), when he decided to try it one last time. He hadn’t yet opened the DJI Mimo app and noticed the light was green on the module for once. So instead of opening the app, he opened the iPhone’s camera, and suddenly, the module worked! It responded to all the hand signals and tracked him effortlessly. So if you’re having trouble using the multifunctional module, DO NOT USE THE DJI APP. Just use your normal phone camera app. It’s obvious now in the instructional video that they aren’t using the DJI app with it, but it doesn’t say that anywhere. Hope this helps someone else avoid a return! Now he just has to find a way to attach his wireless mic to the unit, and he’s good to go.

This is not a highly technical review, as it is my first purchase of this type. The gimbal performs everything it claims to do very well, but there is a learning curve. As it is my first, I purchased the DJI for its value for money and durability based on watching numerous videos. The microphone integration works very well, and the sensor's fit is versatile for both forward- and rear-facing video. The tripod legs could be more stable, but I can connect it to larger tripods easily. Overall, I am delighted with the purchase, as it has significantly improved my video quality and stability, and represents an excellent value for the money. When my kids were small, we used a camcorder, but now I use my phone to capture memories of my grandchildren. The gimbal, in my hand or on a tripod, makes this a joy, and I look forward to using it to capture sporting events, holidays, and other family adventures. Times keep moving.
