overall very high quality, good value product
very good quality cotton stockinette. keeps my leg & foot comfy & dry in the cam boot. one thing to note is it's not as elastic as synthetic(polyester) stockinette(does not expand as much, and once get expanded, it stays expanded), it's better to get a larger size. (in my case, 3 inch polyester stockinette fit comfortably on my lower leg but for this product i had to get 4 inch size to obtain similar level of comfort) also it does not compress at all (unless you get a small size and wear it really tight) so if you are looking for some compression, this product is not for you.

Surprising!
Ordered to use as 1st layer of bandaging for a course of Complete Decongestive Manual Lymph Drainage. I ordered believing it would be the usual rib knit I had used in past sessions. I was surprised at the close knit of this stockinette. It was not as stretchy as a rib knit. The material is closest to old fashioned cotton knit ladies stockings. Thankfully I purchased the widest width and it was able to cover my Lipoedemic calves and thighs. More importantly, I realized that this knit was contributing to my morning bandaging staying in place longer! With the more stretchy rib knits, once therapy and wrapping were done, bandages began to slip as soon as I started my daily activities. In a few hours, would need to remove the bandaging down to my knees as the bulk of the skipped bandage was interfering with walking. With this stockinette the first few weeks of daily therapy I had almost zero bandage slippage. As I completed a 5 week session, there was only minimal bandage slippage as expected after multiple washings of the stockinette. I am surprised that the small difference in the knot of the stockingette made such a large difference to my therapy.

Very high quality, non-compression stockinette
First, this was not what I thought it was. If you're looking for a stockinette with mild compression, this won't do. It fits loosely on the leg, so I had to request a return. But I decided to write a review because (a) Lohmann & Rauscher was so nice about my return request, and (b) this is really well made. I've used different brands of these cut-to-length tubular stockings, and these are by far the best made. The fabric is soft and smooth, it doesn't bunch up, and there are no flaws or irregularities in the fabric. This is good stuff.

If you have a removable splint, you will like this.
I wore a removable splint for 10 weeks for a broken thumb. The Doctor's office gave me 3 Stockinettes to take with me when I left the office. They were a little heavier material than this product but they didn't wash well and started to stretch. This roll allowed me to cut a fresh liner each day and discard it at night. I still have over half the roll left but it was well worth it in the long run. If the product had been as heavy as the ones from the doctor's office I would have given it 5 stars.

Grrrrr. misplaced in search
Should 109% NOT come up in searches for tubular bandages. This is not good for ANYTHING that a tubular compression bandage is. It's only use would be to keep skin away from a cast or something similar. It's a big roll of thin T-shirt material.

Woven stockinette
Once cut, edges seemed to ravel, seemed a looser weave

Works well for after orthopedic surgery
I had Achilles tendon surgery and needed to protect my ankle for about two months, in order to avoid the rubbing of my shoe against the incision site. I wear socks every day but needed an additional closer, softer form of protection. The doctor's office gave me a length of this at the post-of visit but that quickly needed to be replaced. I bought this and I'm so happy to have my own supply to get through this healing time. At first it appears pretty flimsy but it serves the purpose exactly as I want. It's not intended to compress the area like surgical hose. It is the thin stockinette fabric that a doctor would put on your arm or leg before putting on a plaster cast. Its purpose is to protect the skin from irritation. It is so nice to have!

Will work for the right circumstances
Worked well enough. Had to use it over a joint area and was tough to keep on in that area. But that is not really made for a moving area without tape or stick spray. It works but you have to be willing to work with it. But it did the job for me, offered the protection I needed
