Herschel Grove Backpack, Black Crosshatch, Small 13.5L

I am in love with this backpack! It's of great quality and looks super nice. I am a college student and the size was perfect for me: it totally fits my MacBook Pro 13" (2017), as well as A4 files and papers. I like backpacks not being to bulky and, in the end, if you have less space you won't put as many unnecessary things inside.Another thing to note is that it's kind of waterproof. Last weekend I went out with no umbrella and a very heavy hail started. I walked for about 20 minutes under it. Everything inside remained dry, although some water can get through the zipper's little holes, which is why I did put some fabric around it.As everyone always says, the zipper is a little bit tricky, but I have had the backpack for a few weeks now and it has got a lot smoother, plus you learn how to make it work. The only things I think should improve are the leather laces on the zipper, as I keep thinking they will fall off because they constantly slip. Be aware, or put something else on them.

I purchased this little backpack for my 11 year old daughter to use mainly for school field trips. She also uses it for hiking, biking, and for day outings to museums and theme parks; (in other words for anything that doesn't require a full size bag or luggage. She is able to fit her wallet, a camera, journal, some art supplies (in an art box), small sketch pad, an iPad, an iPod and, a 12 oz sized water bottle. She is also able to squeeze in a lightweight cardigan. For these purposes it works perfectly.It is not a regular full sized backpack and does not fit laptops or mac books. We have not had any problems with the zipper sticking. I only wish the backpack straps were padded, to give some shoulder relief when carrying heavy items.Overall it is made with durable high quality materials and I highly recommend it for middle-schoolers and teens for all outings that does not require a full size backpack. Grade A!

This backpack is very sturdy and the color is very nice. The zipper is a bit stiff, but I think that will go away with more use. Although it was a tight fit, I can squeeze in my 13” 2018 Retina display MacBook Air and a fat (2.5 inch thick) law book. This required some manuervering though. I basically had to put it diagonally instead of directly against the back part of the backpack. Without the protective sleeve it fits just fine. I do wish it was a tad bit bigger. I’m petite (4’9”) so I didn’t want a normal sized backpack since those are always too big for me.

What a cute little backpack! I love using fashionable backpacks as my day-to-day purse. They are so easy for keeping your hands free. Sometimes I have to walk to other buildings for work and bring additional things that I need extra hands to carry. Using a backpack gives me options to carry more. I agree with another review that this backpack is stiff, but it isn’t an issue to me at all and makes the bag seem very sturdy. I imagine it will get softer with use. I really like that this is on the smaller size - big enough to hold a medium size purse worth of things including a water bottle. Makes it more purse-like to me. I really have no complaints about this backpack!

This backpack is super cute. It's slightly smaller than I anticipated as it does not fit my MacBook Air 13". I intend on using it for college because I wanted to avoid using a huge backpack. It is extremely good quality and unlike other reviewers, I have no issues with the zippers being difficult to use. It fits all of the other things I need to keep in it (excluding my laptop). This backpack would be ideal to use as a daypack as it is not too big but there is enough space to fit a decent amount and pretty much everything that you would need to carry on a daily basis.UPDATE: I recently upgraded my laptop to the 2017 MacBook Pro and it fits into the backpack perfectly.

I’ve gotten so many compliments with this bag, such a beautiful color and it’s super convenient and light to take on long weekend trips. It’s so much better than a tote or a duffel, which will hurt your shoulder, plus you can take it on the plane with you and it’s so small it doesn’t even count as a carry-on, just a personal item.

This small back pack is a great size for the gym, day hikes, work, etc. I am able to fit a pair each of shorts, leggings & socks, two t-shirts, and a regular sized bath towel with a little room to spare as pictured. The zipper pull & teeth are metal and they work easily. The strap adjustment buckles are made of plastic and adjust as normal with ease. The shoulder straps are not padded which is a nice feature for a lightweight pack so it's not too bulky. The back side only of the backpack is padded, making it nice and thick for comfort and durability. Its combination of stitch quality and thick material will make this little backpack last a long time.

This bag seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It is lightweight, cute as can be, and practical. I love the look. But….the zipper catches so easily and gets stuck. At first, I thought it was my fault. But it kept happening over and over- so frustrating. I need a bag that is functional, and this isn’t it.

Cute bag, love the bright happy colour, but both zippers are rusted and they are stiff to use. The colour on the zippers are quite rusty. I would not recommend as an every day use kind of bag with the current conditions.

Took a bit longer than expected for them to ship it out, but Herschel bags are gorgeous and was worth the wait. These things hold up extremely well and the colour is beautiful, I highly recommend any of the Herschel product if you're wanting something long term.
