Great Warranty
I purchased this unit to extend my Wi-Fi to my gate, which is approximately 700 feet from my house. There is a little learn curve to it, but it's not that hard, and the unit worked great for a year. Then, for some reason, the 2.4 GHz side of the unit stopped working. I called tech support, and they had me do a few things, but it still wouldn't work. However, they had their second-level tech email me, and we tried a few other things; still, we weren't lucky. The unit was 3 days out of the 1-year warranty, but they sent me a brand new system in 3 days anyway. I had it up and going that afternoon, and it's working great. I hope I don't have another problem, but if I do, I will buy another one because it works very well and goes the distance, and they did not have to replace the system, but they did. Thanks Wavlink..

Easy and effective way to seriously expand your coverage.
I really like these devices. I set up the first one as Wireless AP. and I was able to access it from a good 200 yards away. Through a cabin wall and a few trees but it was about as "line of sight" as it could be without being able to see it. I added another this past week and it was pretty simple to change the wireless ap to mesh AP and add the second mesh extender. I wasn't able to get it to pair with the hardware button. I had to do it through the two GUIs. But not a big deal. The hardest part is getting the stupid Ethernet cable through the waterproof gland assembly. Like always they make those a tiny bit too small and makes getting the cable through impossible and full of cursing. small flathead finally helped and I was able to shove it through there. Don't misplace the rubber insert for the reset button like me. Don't see where they offer replacements. but it shouldn't get wet in its orientation. Comes with a passive POE injector, but I'm running mine straight from a POE switch. I thought I was going to need 3 to stretch to the area I was trying to watch with cameras but I was able to make it with 2. I leave a cheap deck box nearby with the POE switch in it and stick a 1024wh battery pack in them to power the AP, Switch, and 1 camera. they run all night allowing remote viewing of deer and other wildlife. Really expands my viewing capabilities. I wasn't really able to get beyond 40-50 yards or so with the cheap little "travel" router I was using. I'm now watching deer 350+ yards away. Very much worth the cost IMO.

Great AP with some severe limitations...
If youโre planning to run multiple SSIDs, be aware of a big limitation: it only works if you split the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios. Even then, it works in mesh mode, but not in AP mode. Outside of that setup, multi-SSID just isnโt happening. For the price, thatโs a pretty significant drawback, especially if youโre expecting this to function as a full multi-SSID access point. It may end up going back because of that. Setup is straightforward and easy, but youโre limited in how many SSIDs you can actually deploy. What would make this a standout AP: โข Per-SSID bandwidth limiting โข True multi-SSID support (without radio splitting) If it had those features, this would easily be a 5-star device. As it stands, itโs good, but with some frustrating limitations.

ax 1800 oudoor wifi
I Bought 3 outdoor Ax1800 Wi-Fi6 to use with Starlink on my farm. We have a Google Nest mesh network for the house, but I want a separate mesh network for the farm. I'm told the maximum I can use is 7. I have them meshed together with only one hardwired as the root router and only 1 hop to run the security cameras, and it's working great! I'll add a second hop down the road; I'm lucky to have electricity in the other locations to receive a good signal. The first day, I struggled and googled wave tech support, and the guy on the phone wanted to charge me money to help me set up the routers. I hung up the phone right away because it didn't seem right. I read some Amazon reviews about customers experiencing the same issue. So, I went to the wavlink.com website and emailed them after my work day. They responded right away. they said, "We want to clarify that Wavlink tech support is globally free, and we will not take charge from our customers." So, I Googled Wavlink's support again and found that Google's first AI result is wavlink.net and not wavlink.com. Ok F*** Google. On the second day, I called Wavlink.com's support phone number and told him I wanted to mash all 3 outdoor 1800wifi6 together. He gave me some pointers, and later that day, advanced tech support emailed me because it was more complicated. However, I was able to work it out from the tips I received over the phone. First, the hard wire ax1800 is the root so the mode is the router. The other Wi-Fi Ax1800s start from scratch and do a factory reset. When you first log in to admin to set up your device, right above the time zone is the mode setting. I failed to see that; it didn't stand out, and if you go beyond that, it doesn't work correctly in advanced settings after the setup. Set both unit modes to easy mesh or something like that. Secondly, on the first (root) wired ax 1800wifi6 in router mode, I was able to find, at the bottom of the home page, below the network status and above the copyright, the little blue "PC UI" link. I went to advanced settings from the little blue "PC UI" link, all with my smartphone, by the way. Then, to Mesh Network, I was able to input other devices using the pair keys written on the back of the other two ax1800 wifi6 units to set up the mesh. It works! I hope this helps.

Long Range
I like the range of this router. I have Starlink at my ranch and I extended it to my barn 150' away with cat6 cable and a nighthawk router. But I needed more range so I ran another 175 ft of cat6 cable from the nighthawk router with this Wavlink router at the end, mounted on a metal pole outside my barn. I can now get a signal 600 ft from the outside of the barn all the way to the front gate. Now I can add a solar powered wifi camera at my gate. Also the power is ran through the cat6 cable so you don't need to plug in the router. The only problem I had was the initial setup. And the setup directions are printed in very small type so older eyes like mine, might have a problem reading the fine print. It got a little frustrating setting it up at first but then I reset the router and started over and it went very smoothly at that time and so far I've have a long range stable signal. So my advice is if you have a problem setting it up initially, press the reset button (I know they don't really tell you where it is on the router) and start over.

The mount is a joke. Won't let me save my settings.
UPDATE: Installed 7/2023 dead 11/2023. This device is a joke. Stay away. I'm in IT. Do not recommend. Software is too simple and build quality is subpar. The WAP worked without issue. The software is VERY basic. No guest mode. If you want more than one SSID you need to designate one for 2.4ghz and one for 5ghz. I was impressed that it was able to do a firmware update using my phone over the "cloud'. Ultimately the limited software will make this my last purchase of this item. The method to mount the unit is a joke. Not very secure for an outside unit. Ethernet connection must be enclosed in 1/2 inch conduit or water grommet from the bottom. No method to mount on the ceiling with any ease. On the very first screen it asks you to change the default password. Great! Except it won't save the new password. Keeps saying to use English letters and special characters. Which I am doing. I finally got this to work by changing my password until it liked one I picked. The SSID passwords have the same issue. I would not recommend for anything but a very basic install. I gave it 3 stars because it does work and the range was excellent.

The WaveLink AX1800 is awesome.
We're using it as a repeater and love it. We're at a campground in Florida in our RV and they have WiFi in the club house which is about 350ft from our campsite. We could get 1 or 2 wifi bars on our devices but speed tests were very slow. After connecting the WaveLin AX1800 we were getting 60+ Mbs downloads and 28 Mbs uploads. Now we can stream on our TV with no problem. Setup was very easy. We had an old Netgear Range extender and it clouldn't improve the wifi signal. . Now, with the WaveLink we're enjoying fast Internet speeds. We're pretty blown away by how well this works. Hope your experience is as good.
