AcuRite03168 Wireless Cooking and Barbeque Thermometer with Pager, 0.3

Works well. I do prefer the instant read, but this one is great for ovens, grills and some candy making

I love having the alarm system on this thermometer. I use it a lot to make homemade yogurt. Also good for cooking meat or roasts to a particular temp. My son gave me my first one and I loved it so much, I bought another one on my own when that one when kaput. (I used it to check the temp on my freezer and then it stopped working. That may have been the cause or coincidence.) Love the remote alarm too so I can hear the alarm on my belt anywhere in the house. My first one lasted more than 6 years and I make yogurt every two weeks or so, It had regular use.

I have buy this AcuRite product after used 2 times here the result: the first time it work fine, The second time a month later, no communication between the probe and the remote, I test the batteries who was full charge, I change and add a new batteries on both side probe and remote. Nothing work no communication. I contact the sellers by Amazon to know if hey know any problem with this kind of unit or have solution to propose. It answers reply was:'' I am real sorry about that how would you like to proceed thanks '' I have made a new email state I love to know a way to keep this probe if we could fix or change the remote will work ? I have earlier 5 weather station thermometer wireless in house wait from AcuRite with accuracies result, when I buy this cooking and Barbeque wireless I have buy also a new AcuRite station from the same seller who are also work good. I question the guaranty of this product from AcuRite and this seller. Reading other bad experience from buyer with this product many question of qualities are not reply yet, for this reason I quote this product with 2 stars

This is our second thermometer. The first one last 7+ years. We love the ease of the small indicator that can be brought into the house while we prep the rest of the meal. Great product.

We love it. We bought one six months ago and bought teo more for family for x-mas. It's pretty easy to use and as long as you position the sensor properly works well. I would prefer if it had a completely off mode instead of showing the time all the time, burning down the battery between uses but that is my only real complaint. The thermo couple is a little large but it has a fast response time and as long as you turn the alarm on you can't really go wrong.Update - Broken :-( It took a tumble off the counter (first time we ever dropped it)and doesn't work anymore so perhaps not that durable but it still was a nice gadget. We replaced it with a different brand based on price.

i love this thermometer. just jab that pointy thing in the thick part of the meat, set the temperature you want (or time) and walk away. the pager will go off when you hit the temperature you want. it's super easy to use. i have never read the instructions but i figured it out no prob. it lets you either prepare other food or sit down and have a beer without having to constantly having to constantly check your meat. I like to set the temp 10 degrees less than what is called for so i know i am getting close and then i pull it out 5 degrees under the desired temp to let the last part of the cooking happen out of the oven on the counter.

I read the instructions and found that it is what I needed, a meat thermometer. If you want to measure the oven temperature, get something else or you will destroy the probe. The cable may be rated for oven temperatures, but the probe itself is not.It works for me and the paging feature allows me to do something in a different room and still hear the 'temperature reached' alarm. Before I got it, I burnt many meals and had to air out the house after the smoke detectors rang their alarm. After I got it, the food survived.In my opinion, the only way it may be improved is have a cooling function to let the user know when a cooling item reaches the target temperature.

Our sons gave this to us for Christmas and it sat in the package for 3 months because we forgot about it. Once I opened it and used it the first time, I was hooked! It is absolutely accurate and not having to open the grill and check on the temperature is wonderful. I have either had to stand there and watch the meat cook, or forgotten about it because I am doing something else in the kitchen and had it overcooked. Now when timer goes off, it doesn't matter where I am, I know it is done and I never have to worry. I am ordering several of these for gifts because I think it is such a fantastic product.
