Wonderful idea but it has some serious problems.
The package came right on time. Amazon is truly amazing with their delivery process.I installed the batteries and quickly learned that the base unit must have AC power to function. The batteries keep the settings alive. That consists of a link to the remote units and a choice of F or C temperature readout. In other words, to mount this on the wall I need to find a way to hide a black power cord.I put the three remote units and the base station next to each other on a flat surface. After the units had warmed up a few hours they were displaying temperatures and humidity readings that were not exactly close to each other. After a while they reported LL for humidity, which means it cannot be read.Within two hours one of the blind senders was dead. An hour later the other one died. I put new batteries in all three senders and they started working again but the remotes are now showing two degrees F different from the base station sitting next to them. The humidity readings for the sender with the readout is showing LL, as is the base station. This is not looking good at all. WIth different readings from four units sitting next to each other one must ask which one is correct? The humidity readings on two of the four are not working. And the reading for the #3 unit, which displays in orange, is almost unreadable. That 3rd unit is the one with the readout. It requires a tiny Phillips screwdriver to remove the back, which is held by three screws. I would really like to know who thought that was a good idea.I am awaiting a reply from Tech Support. This is not looking good.

Can't read the screen
The humidity readings are way off to the point of being not useful at all. Even though this unit must be plugged into household power it doesn't produce enough light so you can easily read the screen in average room light situation. You have to hold the screen real close to read it. The red one is the worst and can't be read at a distance at all.

Be aware - Base unit MUST be plugged into outlet in order to work
What is the point of a "wireless" system, if the base unit has to be plugged into an outlet in order to work? This defeats the purpose of having a wireless system. The model number RAR502S used to be sold as model number RAR502 - without the "S" on the end. The old model had a base unit and 3 remotes just like this one and did NOT have an AC adapter plug. This was a stupid design change by Oregon Scientific.VERY DISAPPOINTED!
