The SAMSUNG Galaxy S8 Active runs on Android OS v7.0 (Nougat) out of the box. It comes with a non-removable 4000 mAh Li-Po battery. It has a 5.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 px. AMOLED technology is widely used for smartphones due to its superb color reproduction capabilities and very deep blacks.

Great Phone
I'm very hard on my phones and do not ever want to buy a new one . This is the best site for buying a refurbished phone . I've gotten 2 from here, might order another one soon just for a back up emergency .

Best phone I've had yet, with caveats
The phone arrived as advertised with no visible damage, perfect functionality, and a clean ESN; activating with a SIM kit from Sprint was a breeze. The S8 Active has one of the better hardware designs I've seen in a phone. Coming from HTC, I miss a few features not included in Samsung's Android fork (for example, multiple Do Not Disturb periods rather than a single period that's the same every day, or a vertical-scrolling app drawer), but the overall OS performance seems good. The major downside to Samsung's software environment is its redundant, intrusive, parallel application delivery framework and enormous number of proprietary apps that can't be removed without hacking root permission or sending package removal commands over ADB.That said, the battery is enormous, and power optimization across the hardware and software is great compared to my previous phones. For example, I went on a 90 minute bike ride yesterday with my phone communicating with three sensors (two BLE, one ANT+), tracking position with device-based GPS, and constantly transferring route data to online servers, and it only drained 7% of the battery from full. The OLED display does use notably less power (relative to the OS, cell standby, etc.) than the backlit screens on my previous phones, and it doesn't exhibit the cell standby power drain common to a number of other phones from various manufacturers. The one serious downside to the power system is that it only uses Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2, despite being designed and released over a year after QC3 launched and with QC3 support in the SoC package. This is almost certainly a cost-saving/profit-maximizing move at the cost of design, since the QC3 hardware and licensing is more expensive. As a result, charging is slower, not unbearably so, but the fastest charging possible at the time of release would have been nice given the size of the battery. It also supports USB Power Delivery, which is comparable to QC2 charging speeds (and a little more efficient in practice, so it's what I use).I'm not a fan of only virtual buttons rather than dedicated buttons on the bezel, especially since the setting that's supposed to force the navigation bar to permanently stay visible doesn't always persist, and the touch responsiveness of the screen isn't as good as the HTC models (One M7 and 10) I had previously, especially along the edges of the screen; that's probably the most irritating problem, since I do have to repeat taps on elements toward the edge of the display - where lots of designers like to put buttons - with a fair bit of frequency. The rugged design has protected it well from minor drops so far.I would say the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and this is probably overall the best phone I've had yet. I do especially appreciate Samsung committing to continue a line of phones that put function over form while so many other manufacturers prioritize form above everything, neglecting things like durability, battery capacity, heat management, and having an 1/8" audio jack. If you're the sort of person who has trouble using touch displays in general, I would say look elsewhere, since whatever type of digitizer they're using on this one will compound those issues, and interacting with the display is something you do almost every time you use the phone. For everyone else, go ahead and buy one if the feature set looks like what you want.

Case Rating
I'm rating this a 3 because the while case itself is great; the clip is very flimsy, not sure it'll make it through one day on my husbands job, it does not appear that it will hold up for what we need. I almost broke it last night putting it on his phone.

Too many Glitches to count
This phone has been giving me problem. Inundated with error messages, voice text comes & goes and far from user friendly. I would never buy again. It is even making me consider an iPhone - which I have been a loyal Samsung customer forever.
