Q: Could these be hammered into wood? Are the spikes sharp enough?

The spikes are not strong enough. I used them to decorate a cat scratcher and the part ldecorated was pleather and heavy cardboard. The spikes were more like thin aluminum. I ended up cutting the spikes off and gluing them on. So no l would not recommend them for wood.

No, they have tabs at each star point that you press through the material and fold over to secure them.

Q: How wide is the belt that's on the hat? (I'm trying to add rivets on it) thanks in advance

There is no hat and there is no belt, I don’t know why or where you see a “Hat with a belt” that is not what they are selling. There are only the Metal star shaped 10mm in size (approximately a little less then 1/4 inches)
