Well made. I just didn't know what I needed
I purchased this as I had a boom mic that I was trying to use with a particular microphone. I took a stab and ordered all of these that Amazon had for sale, since the price was right. Sadly, I couldn't get it, or the combination of them to work with my needs. This is not the fault of the manufacturer, as this is was well-manufactured.What I did instead, was purchase the Rode Boom that attaches to my desktop for my home studio. The screw/adapter in that setup worked perfectly and I got it from Amazon. Look for a review of that within.If you know exactly what you need, then you won't go wrong here. Unfortunately, I didn't know what I needed. Finally I just Googled Boom stand for X model microphone and the Rode stand came up.

Does the trick just fine
Used to attach the microphone that came with my Emotiva XMC-1 preamp/processor to my camera tripod as the standards in the audio business are different from those in photography. It was pricey for what it is, but it included free shipping and certainly saved making phone calls and a physical trip to try and find one locally.

Necessary
I have a Manfrotto Mini Tripod that I use primarily with a Zoom H4N. This adapter enables me to use it with regular dynamic mike in a standard clip to mike a guitar cabinet. This one little chunk of metal.

A sweet and inexpensive fix
Does exactly what I needed...which was to adapt a shotgun mike holder to screw onto a standard tripod. A sweet and inexpensive fix!!!

Does exactly what you would expect it to do.
It does exactly what it's supposed to do - let you convert a 1/4-20 male tripod thread to a 5/8" standard male microphone thread. Nothing more, nothing less. I use it to connect a standard microphone boom to my video recording tripod rig.

It's just an adapter, but it does what it does very well. Perfect for adapting a typical 1/4" camera mounting screw to a 5/8" microphone stand type of screw, just what I needed.
