Q: Does this have a strong smell that lingers in the air and on your firearm after you're done cleaning it?

Strike Hold has a mild odor when first applied as a liquid, which some have said resembles very mild brake cleaner or solvent. However, depending on many variables, this should dissipate within 3 to 24 hours, depending how much liquid was used, how well the liquid Strike Hold was wiped off, and how well ventilated the area is. A thorough cleaning with moderate spray in a ventilated area should only last 2-4 hours. If you wipe the metallic surface off completely, leaving no liquid residue, there should be an extremely faint odor, only detected if you smell the surface up close. In 2016, MPH System Specialties added a mild Orange Clean Scent to the product, to reduce the solvent smell. However, in 2017 that scent was removed.

Q: Is this oil the same as bore oil?
