Fun and Cute
The illustrations are unique and fun, and the book is simple so it's perfect for small children. I really enjoy the look at finding friends in nature, as my kids do this often. The only thing I didn't like is the little boy pulling her hair in one of the illustrations at the end - this isn't a friendly action and reminded me too much of the "that just means he likes you" trope, so it gets four stars for that.

Jeffrey dahmer should have read this book maybe.
I saw this book on a blog about helping kids who are slow to warm up so it was not what I was expecting for my 4 year old. Even my 2 year old was past it. The message it teaches isn't something my kids needed assistance with. May be cute for for a one year old however be careful because at one point the little girl is playing on the roof of the house.

Classic, Beautiful, A Must Have for Every Library
Marvelous, wonderful, inimitable Taro Gomi! This book is a classic and one of my go-to gifts for 2-4 year olds; inspires and imparts the beauty of friendship and the endless, playful growth and expansion it instills in us, the pure, humble and unfettered joy of learning and the interconnectedness of all things. A must-have which should be in every child's library! I dare you not to get misty-eyed at the end. Taro Gomi is pure magic.

Great book for my 4 year old girl
I liked a lot when reading to my kid, she was very interested in the lecture, the message is clear and the words are very well chosen.

Well loved with beautiful illustrations.
My son absolutely loves this book. When own several books by Taro Gomi and they definitely don't disappoint. The illustrations are cute and the words are short and sweet. My son loves to point out and name the animals and objects in the book. Every time we read the book, he points out new objects. Its a great way to teach him the names of objects and animals. I have since bought several copies of this book for friends and family and they have always been well received and loved. The most recent gift was raved about at the gift opening. Another parent that we had given the book to raved about how much they and their daughter love the book. I would highly recommend My Friend as well as any other title by Taro Gomi!

Teaches common words beautifully for a beginning reader!
Great for teaching "friend" as a word to know (for sure!) and other sight word skills become clear without ever calling them sight words. I don't do sight words anymore. I teach each within its own word pattern. If it doesn't fit a pattern...it's called an oddball!

Wonderful!
We got this book for a 1st birthday present. It is easily one of my and my daughters favorite books. Images are pretty, has a variety of animals, and the writing is simple. I bought if for her friends 2nd birthday and will most likely buy for more.

Charming
A charming little book. My daughter is 16 months old and she really likes it. It's unusual in that it is very simple and intended for a young audience (1 - 3 year olds by my estimate), but still has a lot of pages. So many books for this age group have, like 4 or 5 pages and take about 10 seconds to read. This one is longer, which is very nice.

Another family favourite
Lovely pictures paired with charming repeated structure. Read it to our first-born from birth, and have film footage of her reading it to her newborn baby sister because she knew it by heart. Highly recommended as one of baby's first books.

Pensé que era una historia
Pensé que sería una historia, sólo habla de lo que aprendió de los animales , está masomenos , puede servir para los que están aprendiendo inglés y a leer, pero no para contar una historia a pequeños.
