We purchased this for our 8-year-old daughter for Christmas 2025. It was the favorite gift of the day! She immediately opened it and played with it for hours, and days in fact. There is a variety of molds and all are adorable:) The instructions are straight forward, yet simple enough for young readers to understand. All five of my children (ages 4, 4, 5, 8, 10) were able to creating fun creatures independently and having a great time playing together. I would suggest supervising the first attempts, as releasing the gel from the molds takes a bit of finese; however, after the first couple of tries, it's easy... and fun! The molds are well made and will last for years, if cared for. We laid out a towel under the project, as there is water involved. The only cleaning necessary is to dry off the molds when completed, or lay them out to dry. Any spilled gel is easily wiped up. I highly recommend this for school-aged kids and adults alike.

My kids absolutely love making these Magic Water Elf’s, and it keeps them busy for hours. Easy enough for my two kids (7 & 4) to do independently. They love making these little squishies and they come out great. This kit came with a nice variety of colors to choose from and has lasted us a while. Would highly recommend this kit to anyone looking to keep their kids busy.

This is by far one of my daughter’s favorite toys that I’ve purchased for her. Pros: • Lots of sea creature molds • Plenty of solution included • Lots of colorful gels • Encourages creativity by allowing kids to mix, match, and experiment She loves being able to create different sea animals and try new color combinations. It really lets her imagination run wild. Cons: • The instructions are a little vague I recommend watching a few YouTube videos before starting so you don’t make the same mistakes we did. Once we got the hang of it, though, my daughter had fun for hours. Overall, it’s a great creative activity toy and definitely worth it for us.

This kit is worth the 30$. My 8 almost 9 year old girl picked it off Amazon with her grandparents birthday gift card. She read the instructions by herself, didn’t have any questions for me, and proceeded to create all the wonderful creatures in an ocean of fun. She even got creative and started to make hybrid creatures. The only part she needed help with was opening the little packets of gelatin powder type stuff without spilling it. That’s what you mix with the paint to make the jelly type animals. She probably spent a good few hours a day for two or three days until she moved onto something else for the time being. But there is so much ingredients in this kit that she will get to do it all over again no problem when she’s ready. And I love how everything comes in a nice plastic container to reuse and store. It was messy, but no stains from anything and cleanup was easy with Clorox wipes. We keep all the at least 100 animals floating in some clear canning jars. I think it would also be great for play-dates. I do my research when I buy new things and this was a great pick.

So easy for my 6 year old to use! My 20 year old son even had fun with it! Very creative and can make so many of them.
