Fits ‘22 klr
The tusk foot pegs paired with the stock shifter made everything awkward. This fits so much better that its like they were made for each other. Would definitely buy again

Fits 3rd gen KLR
It fits perfectly on my 3rd gen KLR. Take off the chain guard and use a 10mm ratchet socket for the bolt on the shifter. It has to be completely removed to pull the shifter off. The bolt is a tight fit but took me about 5 minutes to swap.

almost correct but will scar bike (2018 GEN II KLR650)
This shift lever is so close to be great but unfortunately it scratches the bike during normal use. In checking the forums I found that this is a common problem with this lever. If it were only bent out another .25-.5 inch it would be ideal. Now I have a scratch on the bike and am using a stainless steel disk to prevent further damage. I do like the fact that this is made from steel and I am generally a fan of IMS products.2018 KLR650 GEN II

Almost mandatory for riders with shoe size 11+. Well made, easy installation.
Replacement was almost mandatory for me since I wear size UK 13 shoes; the stock shifter was way too short, my foot couldn't fit in the space between the footrest and the shifter and shifting was very awkward. I chose the IMS shifter since it's made of steel, which bends but does not break like aluminum, hence can be bent back to shape and you can ride again.. The 1" longer shifter completely solved the issue: firstly, it was the correct one for my 2002 KLR 650 (not always granted when ordering parts online..), then replacement was very easy, 15' work, no adjustment or filing needed. Gear shifting is now comfortable and easy as it is supposed to be, and riding my bike is a pleasure again. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because, at least in my opinion, the lever should be more rigid. Apart from this, highly recommended.

Solid fit on my 22 KLR650!
Fits my 2022 KLR 650 perfectly. Very solid and perfect for my 11.5 to 12 inch boots!

Good for big feet
I wear a size 14 boot and the stock KLR shift lever was too short to get my boot under. This one helped. It is only 3/8-1/2" longer then stock. That was enough to make a difference.

Good buy
Like many other KLR riders, the stock shifter is just a little too short for my comfort, especially when wearing boots and after replacing the footpegs(side-note: I got these:http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Footpegs-Footrest-1987-2005/dp/B00ES5LN0Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1397468030&sr=8-3&keywords=klr+footpegswhich, at the time, were $20 (and, afaik, are cheaper on amazon.co.uk); I can recommend them over stock pegs too, and at a very good price)This shifter is a little longer, enough to accommodate my foot better, but not so much as to leave me stretching.Overall build quality is good, finish is good, product looks good and seems to perform as expected, however, please to bear the following in mind:1) As mentioned, it's longer than stock. If your feet are only just making it now, this is not the part for you. Go get a stock replacement if you really need a replacement.2) The clamping part at the back was slightly too open for a snug fit when tightening down in the small space afforded. I'd suggest you tighten the bolt down to bend/clamp it a bit more shut (and then of course take the bolt out again) before attempting to fit this lever. If the lever wiggles on the splined gear rod, it will wear the rod and you'll end up paying a lot more to have that replaced. Trust me, I've seen this on another bike.3) I would have appreciated it if the design of the lower bend were different, that is, bent up a little then back down again in a gentle "U" shape -- this would have allowed me to set the shifter to a lower position. As it is, this shifter has in common with the stock one the limitation on how low it can be set because the bike frame gets in the way, preventing down-shift. It's not a huge deal because the stock shifter had the same limitation, but I really would have preferred the shifter to have been set one notch further counter-clockwiseAll-in-all, it's a good product at a reasonable price and recommendable as a replacement part. My bike is an '04, but I understand that this fits a large range of models.
