Not a bad little show...
Not wanting to subscribe to Netflix for various reasons, this series did pique my curiosity. Danny Rand/Iron First has always been a second-tier player in the Marvel pantheon of heroes. I am old enough to remember his debut in the mid-70's when Kung Fu movies were all the rage, but looking back he may have (sadly) been a knee-jerk reaction to the slightly more popular (and deifinitely Asian) Shang-Chi, Master of Kung-Fu. It's also possible the original comic creators went with the whole white rich kid survives plane crash in the Himalayas, is rescued by mystical martial artist monks who groom him and train him to become a living weapon (the "Iron Fist" of the title), and then disappear into another dimension (read: alternate universe - this is Marvel Comics y'know...). In fact, I want to say Iron Fist made his debut in a Marvel Team-Up with Spider-Man. Of course, I no longer have that issue, but I vaguely remember him being mistaken for a bad guy by Spidey and....NOT SPEAKING A WORD. At first you couldn't tell where he was from (other than the colorist making him Caucasian), and I don't think he spoke until the end of the story. His basic look (and I apologize for not knowing the proper terminology) was a dark green tight-fitting body suit that stopped just below his knees and elbows; it was also open over the chest showing a black tattoo of a dragon and I want to say it had yellow labels and collar turned up. He then complemented the look with a yellow doo-rag with "Spidey-like" eyes that came down over his nose, and was tied in a "ponytail" in the back, a yellow sash/belt around his waist, and dainty little yellow slippers over bare feet that barely covered his toes and heels. Despite the contrived look, he was a bit of a bad-a** and kicked criminals' butts all over the comic panels. Like Danny eventually is able to do in the TV show, he could concentrate his energies into his fists which glowed and crackled and left contrails in their wake. He later joined up with Luke Cage (another minor Marvel deity) to form Heroes for Hire. Apparently when he made the debut, he was shaven bald under the bandana, but as the stories progressed, the artists began drawing in blond hair (as it grew back). By the time he "unmasked" he had a full head of blond hair (though nowhere near as curly as Finn Jones' coif in the show). And eventually he stopped wearing the bandana/doo-rag altogether.Unfortunately I've only gotten through 3 (of 13) episodes. My Region 1/A Blu-Ray player decodes the "region-free" discs quite nicely and the subtitles are fairly standard, and not that obstrusive if your're like me, and either have slight hearing issues or watch the show later at night when the rest of the household sleeps.A few corrections (in my opinion). Finn Jones is not that bad of an actor. It's a superhero show. While it's nice to show some emotional depth, this isn't high art cinema. One disadvantage I noticed is he occasionally has a hard time maintaining an American accent (being Welsh and all that). He also appears to be relatively young compared to other "superhero" actors, and there is the slight possibility that he's downplaying the character a bit to "grow" into the role as the series progresses. I also have to give him props for walking around the sidewalks of NYC (where the show was filmed) in bare feet, and they are quite filthy looking when he shows up his soles. As somone else snarked here, "dude doesn't get shoes till the 5th episode" - that's not true, he's wearing sneakers by Episode 3, but the character is a master of martial arts - and in most dojos I've ever seen, the students. instructors or senseis do not wear shoes (perhaps tabi socks at times but generally go barefoot). And as for the Meachums. Well, again, this is comic book territory so a little artistic license must be granted for their outrageousness (to make the audience not identify or root for them I'd say) and stubbornness to acknowledge Danny's birthright/identity. Sometimes you have to twirl the mustaches along with the snazzy repartee.Let's just say I've been pleasantly surprised with the show so far. I may need to revise my opinion as the series moves forward but for now, I've seen worse. (Titans, anyone? Doom Patrol???)

Iron Fist! Now want season 2!
This was my first Blu-ray since my old old dvd player died. But it was a pain to get a hold of. First company did not ship but the second company did. So far I am happy that I got it, was not sure if I would get a copy. As for the series, while season 1 was okay, I love season 2! Hoping it comes out on Blu-ray. Hoping Netflix Marvel's The Defenders comes out on Blu-ray too.

Netflix Marvel shows were epic
Loved it. But like Jessica and most Marvel shows from Netflix can't get the other seasons on blu ray.

Great product, alright series.
4 stars for the product being exactly as describe by the seller. Thw show itself I give it 3 stars due to the lack of quality it is in comparison to the rest of the Defenders series. Not a bad show but not as good as it could've been, I still recommend giving it a shot if you are a MCU fan and are following the MCU-Netflix world grow.
