These aluminum caps are very well made, appear sturdy, come with you need to install them (except for lap sealant) and are quite easy to install. Removing all the old sealant is the only aspect that is a bit of a chore but none of the process is technically difficult. I wish I had known about these years ago.

Part was just what I needed
Had to do a little modification on the base to fit RV roof. No fault of the part itself. Works great.

Bottom line, metal versus plastic... Metal for the win!
The hardest part of the installation for me was getting the old bases off. The ease of installation for this after that was stupid simple. The look, fit, and function just like the originals. The air flow is not hindered at all by having the screening over the hole. I actually like having that there so that critters can't make their way into the vent tubes. However, the thing I like best about these is the fact that they are metal and they have rubber plugs for the 2 cap screws. Living in a place where it snows and having to keep the roof cleaned off requires some shoveling. I don't mind doing that but I broke both of my old ones by hitting them with my snow shovel while I was cleaning it off this winter. The plastic ones get brittle with age and makes them very easy to get broken. Not these metal ones. They look like they are powder coated so I'm hoping they will last a lot longer than the old plastic ones did. I am very optimistic though. Bottom line, metal versus plastic... Metal for the win!

solid vent stack
This product was great. Very sturdy. A solid vent stack. It was missing the screws, so I had to supply my own stainless steel screws.
