Calligraphy Grid Paper: 24, 2-1/4

The pad is fine, but the paper is softer than the image would lead one to believe. There is no cover for the pad, just a plastic bag with yellow paper. For practicing Chinese calligraphy, it is very good. Would recommend this for beginners.

Found out that there wasn't a more detailed review on this product and thought I might write one for one to use as reference.I will start by saying that don't expect the packing of this product to be exactly like the picture. Mine came in a normal plastic bag much like the one in the picture but without the fancy drawing on top. It not a big deal really. Just thought that I might point that out.With that said, here is the review of the product.There isn't anything really special about this paper, considering it is machine made. It is a standard 6x4 grid paper and it comes with 100 sheets of paper, which is more than enough for the occasional hobbyist.I would say that I couldn't really complain about the quality because it feels and looks the same as other papers I've used and the price of this makes it a bang for you buck.I would also like to say that since this would be a great practice tool for the beginner and novice alike. Since it isn't made as traditional calligraphy paper is made, the amount of ink it soaks up will be substantially less. Less as in a good way. With tradition paper, the amount of ink you use has to be just right or else the ink will spread almost immediately after the word is written, turning it into a blob of mess. There isn't that much of a problem with this product though.Also, it should be noted that since calligraphy paper is extremely fragile, some of the paper might be ripped or curled up when you receive the package. Mine arrived not in the best state, with about ten pieces of paper not intact. This product is not too bad.. But it's just paper, don't expect anything more. And why does this comment requires you to write so much to rate it?

Soaks through so not useful.

The paper is not super high quality rice paper, but it was fairly inexpensive while still being nice to work with. The grid size is perfect for lianxi hanzi, and the pages are thin enough to use as tracing paper without bunching up nearly as much as tracing paper does when it gets wet.

I use (and order) this paper regularly, what else one can say?
