Tiki Cat After Dark Shreds Wet Cat Food, Variety Pack, 3 oz. Can (12 Count)

My picky cat loves it! It's a little expensive, but it's a better quality brand than some others.

Got these because Tiki Cat is one of the most highly recommended cat food brands that isn't insanely expensive, and as my boy gets older I'd like him to get some better nutrients and higher quality food. Shockingly, my picky little son actually ate the full can of each flavor. He usually won't eat any canned food that's beef, duck, or turkey - he even finished the beef/venison can! Shreds are thin and it's a very wet food, almost a baby-food texture with finely shredded meat. No long thick "shreds" like Friskies, no pate to mush apart, no separate gravy and chunks for him to just slurp the soupy parts. It's a slightly smaller can than most wet food, but bigger than the tiny cups like Sheba. Good portion size for one cat, as there isn't half a can left over and he's not hollerin that he's still starving after finishing it. Does it smell good? No, it smells like cat food, obviously! I saw some other reviews mentioning the smell and mine smells basically like any other cat food: kinda fishy. (If any of the cans are dented -and- there is a bad smell, there's probably a tiny hole in the can somewhere letting air in so it could be rancid.) Also, I did receive equal amounts of each flavor.

My cat likes it but needs variety and won’t eat it every day

Kitties didn't really care for it but ate if they were really hungry. I bought 3 different boxes and got the same reaction from the kitties. I was hoping they would like it.

My cat loves her food, I love the composition of it. We’ve been loyal to this brand for years actually! My gripe is with Amazon, the box was put in an envelope mailer and when I opened it I saw the packaging was busted open and over half of the cans were dented. Who ran over my freaking cat food? It feels like they’re fine mailing anything out in any condition these days. And no, I don’t want to repack and drive it to a post office for a replacement because you thought it was okay to ship it to me like this.

I used to buy this regularly because my cats like the shreds and the broth. However as of April I noticed this is now half or more than half pate not shredded meat, the broth is also becoming non existent and just seems like more pate. For one my cat isn't a fan of pate so she takes a while to eat it but now she refuses to eat it at all. It's been sitting in her bowl now and unfortunately I have one more box coming. Won't be buying anymore. Seems like GM bought this brand and the quality is quickly declining.

My older cat was not eating his premium brand pate so we had to find something fast. The vet offered a Science Diet brand but recommended that we only keep him on it for 1 month due to high protein levels. The Tiki Cat brand offered a wide variety, but their After Dark varieties were full of organ meat in a broth. My old fella just loves it. It is pricey, but worth it if your feline just isn't eating.
