More convenient and sharper than most X-Acto knives
Where has this been all my life? This is more convenient and sharper than almost every X-Acto knife I’ve ever used. A great buy. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Best Heavy Duty Utility Knife I Have Used
This is the best snap-blade utility knife that I've used. Funny, yesterday I was discussing how much I like this tool with a friend over lunch. My friend said that he really likes the Lennox Tradesman Locking Utility Knife, also sold by Amazon. (When I remember how to link to Amazon products within the page I will update with the link.) We have different needs: he owns an HVAC company and puts his knife to heavy use. Professionally, I am an electrical engineer and my hobby is woodworking. I also use the Utility Knife for home projects. My friend needs a strong blade; sharpness is less critical for his purpose. I need a sharp blade; there are different tools I use for heavier cutting.Pros-------------------+They mean it when they say "Locking". Unlike other utility knives I've used, the blade will not slip in this one.+Integrated blade snapper. The red plastic end-plug has a slot the fits over the blade tip like a shoe, covering the point and exactly the right depth to snap off the old blade.+Feed good in the hand.+Stainless construction.+Easy blade changes.Cons---------The blade snapping slot in the red plastic end plug could be marked so that it is easier to see: I struggle to see a <1mm slot in red plastic in anything other than bright light. Usually, I mark it with a Sharpie.-The gray color looks cool, but makes the tool more difficult to find inside my tool bag.Comparison---------------At this same time I bought the NT Utility Knife, I also bought an OLFA 5003 L-1 18mm Ratchet-Lock Heavy-Duty Utility Knife, also from Amazon. This blade will stay locked, but only after you take several turns on the thumb wheel. They use interchangeable blades.

Good, avoid using the built-in blade snapper
This utility blade comes with a blade that can be snapped off in small segments so one can have a fresh blade faster. DANGER - Do not use the built in blade snapper! Instead, use pliers to snap off a piece of blade while keeping a firm grip on the blade piece. I almost severely injured myself because the built-in plastic blade snapper is not intuitive and let the RAZOR blade FLY through the air after snapping it off! Otherwise, this is a good little utility blade.

Super sharp and easy to handle; helped me move apartments
With my old go-with-the-cheapest box cutter on its last legs/blades, I decided to shop around for something a bit nicer to replace it just in time for moving into a new apartment. The NT Cutter wasn't much more expensive, but it sure as heck was a lot nicer.Since getting it a few months ago, it's been through some brutal box and packing tape cutting, including really hard multi-ply corrugated cardboard boxes that held appliances and heavy furniture -- and even the dense sort of boards that protect furniture corners (for which I probably shouldn't use a box cutter). For the vast majority of boxes, it slices through like butter, never catching or tearing except on the gnarliest packaging. The edge has certainly started to visibly wear by now, but its performance for my purposes is largely unchanged (especially now that I've gotten through the move in large part). The size is perfect for my small hands, and I really like the clicky extension/retraction -- much smoother than my old box cutter.Really happy with this knife, and would be glad to keep refilling it with blades.
