Blade Strangers

I like this game. I really good fighting game that is a lot of fun. It's a fighting game with a lot of characters created by indie developers from different games. I love the gameplay, but the only issue I had was the Challenge Mode, but I got through it. All in all, I had a lot of fun. Hopefully the next game would be Chibi Fighters.

There are better fighter games, this is not good. The roster is pathetic, & the price is not worth it..

I loved it! It did what it said on the back of the game, return to the glory days of the arcade, and it was fast paced and full of fun

Very basic 2D fighter. You have your special gauge, and special moves are easily executed either by trigger buttons or directional + special buttons. No need to do any quarter circle or back-forward motions. You still need to time your combo though. Game is more dependent on combos and spacing than special move execution.Gimmick for this game is the 'Heat Up' function. It basically gives you double attack, speed, defense, etc and can be activated when you reach 25% health. Only caveat is that it drains your special meter slowly till it hits zero. Depending on your play style; if you use a lot of specials during the match, the heat up activation may not be worth it as it may only last 1-2secs. So it's risk reward on spent resources.Modes contain:-Arcade:Very basic. Just a gauntlet of matches until the final boss-Story:Plot: Every world is connected via servers overseen by Motes. There's a virus (?) name Lina that consumes all server data. The Motes then summon 'Blade Strangers' from different worlds to stop Lina and save the universe.Every character has there own individualized story. Plot is the same for all of them (except maybe 1)7 matches total. Between each match there's nice banter between characters. There are some reoccurring tropes and storylines so it may get old fast if you're not familiar with the characters of their respective series and their backstory.-Mission:Follow button prompts for combos-VS:Local play or vs AI-Training:Where you can try out moves, and practice using different characters-Online:Non existent. Or at least the times I've tried. This makes getting a platinum trophy (PSN) almost impossible unless you have a friend that can boost you or if you're luckier than I am. Trophies that require online functionality is over 40% of the trophy list.Graphics are okay. Similar to past King of Fighters 2D art style. If you're expecting a tactical 2D fighter filled with content you'll be disappointed.

I love fighting games. I love crossovers. I dont love this game. It is severely unpolished, and all around seems lazy. The background 3d models are poorely rendered. The controls have been simplified to simple button mashing, supposedly to allow beginners to ease into a fighting game for the first time, however this makes every character control pretty much same but with a different skin, and gives no variety between characters. They claim this game takes fighting games back to the glory days of the arcade; thats just an excuse to not add a decent story, program any proper combos, or add any variety to gameplay except arcade mode, a basic story (which is just arcade mode, but this time a computer summoned your character) and versus. In short, this game is an unfinished rush job to try to grab some quick cash.

Good animation and a cool combo system. This game plays in the new Japanese style of one button plus direction makes super moves.

I like fighting games especially 2D Anime fights with 3D backgrounds the game is good...

Game's pretty bad, Only real reason it's not 1/5 is the down supers on shovel knight and Curly are really charming.

El juego es de peleas con comandos simplificados para evitar ser intimidante a aquellos no muy versados en esta clase de títulos. Trae algunos extras agradables como un manual completamente impreso a color con muy buen diseño , portada reversible con un buen arte en ambos lados así como un colgante pequeño pero de buena calidad. Corre bien y los gráficos lucen bastante para ser un juego de presupuesto modesto.Muy recomendable para las personas que buscan una presentación de antaño para sus juegos físicos.

Yo crecí en los noventas, me tocó la fiebre de Street Fighter 2 en su total plenitud y me volví fan de los juegos de peleas, ya sabes, Dark Stalkers, Mortal Kombat, World Heroes y cuando vi Blade Strangers me dije "¡Hey! Este juego se ve como los juegos de las épocas doradas del género", además, salen personajes de otros títulos y los monitos se ven de buen tamaño.Pero ¡inmundos juegos de video! Si algo saben hacer es engañarnos y vaya que Blade Strangers es engañoso.Sus gráficos son buenos, sin llegar a ser sorprendentes y su música es tan verdaderamente promedio como olvidable, sin embargo, el problema más grande que tiene este juego, es su mediocre estilo de juego.En un afán de simplificar el control y hacerlo más amigable para cualquier jugador, los poderes y súper poderes que ejecutan los personajes y, que en otros juegos requieren de secuencias complicadísimas, aquí todo lo hace con un botón y una dirección.Esto puede sonar llamativo para los que gustan del género pero apestan "haciendo hadoukens", pero no es divertido, si acaso hasta se siente vacío.Honestamente, no me puedo atrever a recomendar este juego, pero tampoco puedo satanizarlo, si bien es mediocre, no es un juego malo, tiene elementos redentorios, pero antes de comprarlo pregúntate ¿quieres un juego para redimirlo o para que te divierta?
