Fireplace Remote Control RCST with Thermostat LCD Battery Operated | Majestic, Monessen, Vermont Castings

Received great customer service on this product. My original order included a defective remote control for my fireplace. The manufacturer responded on the Amazon website, called me regarding the issue, and shipped a fully functional fireplace remote to replace the defective one.

Although the details of the item on Amazon and the actual unit we received were exact, our receiving unit had some kind of “Blockage” inside when we tried to install all four (4) batteries. Not wanting to force the batteries into their slots which we felt would possibly damage the unit and make it un-usable; we requested a return. After sending the supplier pictures of the problem, our return was immediately approved and the day after they received the package back a refund was issued! This is not the suppliers fault and we thank them for their prompt actions and we will of course consider them for future purchases.

I purchased this to replace my existing remote device that is the same as this one. Much more convenient when you are unable to reach the logs.

I work on gas fireplaces for a living. This remote is good value for the money. Although they say it is for Majestic, Monessen and VC, it will actually work on almost any millivolt system.A word of advice for this or any remote you purchase. Always disable the method previously used to operate the fireplace previously, be it a wall switch or wired thermostat. Invariably one person will turn on the fireplace via the old switch and then a second person tries to turn it off via remote then thinks the remote is defective.

So easy to set up and it was exactly as advertised

Remote control turns on fireplace while in the off position. This happened three times during the night and twice while we were away. Woke up to the room at past 90 degrees and came home to fireplace on for unknown amount of time. Defective product. Trying to return product for refund. Will follow-up with how this turns out.Got my replacement unit 10 days ago and so far it has not turned on my fireplace when it is set to the off position. So my first unit was defective as stated in my original review. I have revised my rating to average due to the quality control on these units seems to be poor or not performed.

I always put a new set of batteries in anything that comes with them installed once I know it works. I have Monessen gas logs which came with an extended wired manual switch, meaning that I could put the switch closer to the front, but I still had to switch it on and off. It was very easy to disconnect the existing switch and replace it with the receiver for the remote. When I tried it - it did not work so I called the customer service number. They asked it my remote display screen was lit. It was not and they said to replace the batteries which I did and it has worked flawlessly ever since.I loved the logs, but having them thermostatically controlled is wonderful. No more jumping up and down to control the temperature! Great.

I really enjoy not having to get up to turn the fireplace on or off. The best part though is when the room warms up to the temp set in the remote, it turns off until the temperature is below that set amount and comes back on by itself.
