High quality on a 'budget'
For the average person, this price tag for a set of plastic headphones may seem crazy. For anyone who has owned any Sennheiser product in the past, or even this particular set of headphones, you'll know that for the quality of this set, the price really is amazing. To get any better you'd be spending anywhere above £400, and headphones in the below £50 range will pale miserably in comparison. Build quality is excellent, my last pair lasted 7 years before they finally succumbed to damage (which was completely my fault). Audio quality is fantastic, though it does lack the brain shaking bass that some people will be looking for in particular. If you're looking for a new set of headphones to thoroughly enjoy your music collection, for mixing, or even for gaming, these will not disappoint. One word of warning, the cables that feed into the left ear piece are completely and easily replaceable, as are the pads on the top and ears, but the cable that feeds audio to the right ear is not. This will be the most common point of failure, but it takes considerable effort to damage it. Both earpieces have a large degree of rotation, and extend out to suit your head size. If you have this length set at the maximum and move that right earpiece as far as it will go, both left and right, you will run the risk of damaging this wire far more quickly than usual wear and tear. If you have to fold them up tight for travel, remember not to do so when the ears are at their fully extended distance. If you take care of this headset it will last for a very long time, well past the 2 year warranty. They endured 7 years of car rides, house moves, being dropped, tossed and twisted, but be sure to take care for that right earpiece. Keep that in mind and this set will keep you going through an apocalypse. (This review is for the mk1 version, the mk2 version as I understand it is almost identical besides the difference in foam headpiece. If anything else has changed, so will this review.)

Absolute Workhorse
I first bought a pair of these in 2009... I replaced them in 2024 after 15 years of travel, abuse and heavy use (and the old ones still work fine, they're just gross). I use these primarily for tracking acoustic instruments and vocal parts because they have such low amounts of bleed-through, they are also cheap enough to not worry about getting dropped or damaged, however they are so well made that's not an issue. There are some changes from the originals, but that's all in the foam, the sound signature is very true to my old ones.

Sennheiser quality.
For the price these headphones are great. Extremely comfortable and lovely detailed sound quality. Cable length was adequate but if using away from the hifi amp you may need to purchase an extension like i did. Would recommend.

Value for money.
At £75.00, these headphones aren't cheap, but I think for the price you're getting a Very Good set of headphones. They are a little heavy, so you need to be sitting comfortably! Sennheiser products are always Good Quality. At first I thought that they were a little 'bright', but after using them a few times, they now sound very clear and balanced.

Excellent sound, very resistant to exterior noise
I bought these to use with a Yamaha CK88, to save the rest of the house hearing me practise. The sound quality is absoiutely excellent - low bass, superb clarity, with excess treble. The only downside is that I think they're meant for mixing-desk (laptop mixing) use; the spiral cable is a little heavy.

Beware-you have to sit absolutely still
Sound lives up to Sennheiser's quality BUT the lead is way too long and has severe microphony problems that I could sort out by carefull positioning but even then low frequency bumbs from next door were intrusive. Design needs looking at to solve the problem properly, eveen on cheaper headphones I've never come across anything this bad.

Dont give up after just a couple of hours
I bought these headphones on the basis of numerous recommendations from recognised youtube reviewers. I very nearly sent these back because of 'that clamp'. However, I persevered for a few hours, and after just a few the whole thing felt way more comfortable. The quality of the sound is excellent, clear (slightly muted treble) but that maybe because of the closed nature of the design. The noise isolation is very good. Excellent value for money and I'm keeping these beauties. My only complaint is irritating coiled cable though which you cant change

Thank you DankPods for your help. Your video may be 87 years old, but these things are a nice sounding, reasonably priced headphone if you want your music where the producer put it, with a little oomph on the bass. Two things you may not enjoy, so far, my apparently large head can feel a squeeze. It’s not terrible, just there and the corkscrew style cable. It feels like a split cable, but some don’t like the old telephone cord style. So anyways. Running this on my iPad and my PC. Doesn’t seem to need anything more powerful to put out solid sound. It comes with a thicker jack on the cable, whatever the description of the measurement is. 1/4? I don’t know. I forget. Never fear though, just unscrew it gently. Please just be an adult and gently unscrew it because you don’t need to go ham on the thing. It will unscrew and screw on easily, so just relax. They feel sturdy enough. You know, don’t go lobbing them across the room. They fold and swivel, and all that. It’s plastic, so not very heavy and aside from the squeeze that will probably break in over time, they are coo. No extra controls or anything on them. If you want to get a good idea of how they sound for you, take a song you love and know well and give that a whirl. If your system has a fine tuning EQ, adjust as needed. They sound good to me. I do not regret my purchase. I needed to move away from IEMs and tried some FiiO wood ones that were ok except for the price and the stank of them, and these feel comparable at well under half the price. The great part of nice headphones is just hearing songs you love in a more expansive way.

After a lot of research & comparisons with Studio Monitoring Headphones in this league, both price wise & functionality wise, between the Audio Technica ATH-M20x or 30x (a popular & formidable product) & the Sony MDR7506 (classic & iconic studio headphones), what finally made the choice for me was a super discounted deal on amazon for these Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones! At 6.5k, they are way more than a steal. First impression, right as you open the box packaging, is of a premium, well built & heavy duty pair of studio headphones. Box contains the headphones, which come with an attached output cord in a 3.5mm Jack with a 6.5mm adapter & a Safety Instruction guide, that’s it . . . No muss, No Fuss! The cord length provided is just perfect for my usage. These headphones are primarily going to be used for Video & Audio editing on a Macbook Pro, for 4K & Dolby Vision content, so the max distance is usually a standard desktop or office table setup, so the cord length is sufficient. Overall, build & touch n feel quality is off the charts, especially considering the price & the other options available in the same price/features segment. As soon as you pick up the headphones, you know you’ve picked up a premium brand. Finally, the sound quality, is by far the best I’ve experienced till date on any “over the ear”headphones, which were bought for personal use. The audio levels are crisp & clean, totally studio quality. The Noise Cancellation feature is highly effective & makes tuning out from the world, when editing a music video, a cakewalk. Despite looking like heavy duty headphones, these are fairly lightweight & haven’t caused any major issues after a few hours of usage. The cup size is nice & large enough to cover an entire average sized ear. The only caveat so far is the shape of the overhead band, which is way too wide, especially on a bald narrow head, so they may look a bit funny, but it is an extremely small nit-picky thing in what is otherwise an exceptionally fantastic piece of audio equipment. Although it is just the first day of use, the purpose & functionality of the headphones has been a 10/10 for the sound quality, on all audio trials & tests so far. Whether you’re looking for a pair of headphones for professional audio recording/mixing/engineering work or just to plug into your home device & hear crisp, clean & balanced sound, these HD280 PROs are absolutely perfect. Extremely impressed & happy with the purchase. Two Thumbs Up!

Her şey güzel ama kablosu sarmal olduğundan ağırlık yapıyor.
