I have a small backyard. I had several small trees I had to remove and cut up into logs -- most between 3" and 4" in diameter and maybe one was 6" in diameter. This chain saw made the project easy and fun. The battery lasted a long time -- like, several trees. (I did the work over a few afternoons and charged the battery each night, so I never did actually run out of battery.) I also used it to cut a few big roots and that dulled the chain so I had to get a few spare chains. They're standard chains; that was easy enough.

Incredible. We heat our house with wood and are in the process of clearing/creating trails. All in all, I use a saw a minimum of three hours a week so this saw has been used really hard. It has more then kept up. Gas chainsaws drive me nuts. I feel like I am always trouble shooting. This little light weight electric saw packs just as much of a punch without the noice. The battery lasts longer than a tank of gas, changing out the chain is way easier, and starting it is incredible. I will never go back to a gas saw. This is a complete came changer.

Bought this to replace an old anemic battery saw that burned itself up. This saw has so much more power. It’s relatively quiet versus a gas saw, but you sure do hear the chain scream. It’s loud enough I couldn’t listen to a podcast while cutting, but music would have been fine or use ear protection with your favorite headphones. Used it to fell 2 standing dead oaks on my property, one was 6-8” at the base and the other was 8-10”. Using a 4ah battery from my blower provided lots of cuts, but was just on the edge of being able to comfortably and easily wield with one hand. The included 2.5ah battery was just the right weight for one handed limbing and bucking. Between the 4ah and a 2.5ah battery I bucked all of both trees and some other limbs that had already fell on the ground. There were several times where the saw bogged down or stopped. I’m fairly aggressive with pushing my saws through the wood, so this has always happened to me with my gas saws too, but getting to cutting again is much easier on the electric saws, just let off the trigger and then pull it again. This seemed to happen more frequently once the batteries were down to 2 bars and isn’t really a negative, just something to know. I still have my trusty Stihl 20” saw for larger trees and bigger jobs, but this little saw has got me thinking about selling it and getting one of the larger EGO chainsaws because at times I struggle to keep fresh gas around and keep the saw running when I need it. Plus there’s no starter cord to yank a bunch of times to get it started and restarted.

Husband loves it. Size is not too heavy, works just as powerful as his larger saw!

LOVE THIS THING !!!

It was great at first, but on my second time using it the blade popped out while I was cutting 1" - 2" pieces of Australian pine. Whatever sometimes the blade loosens during use and I just have to put the blade back on. As I go to put it on I see that one of the teeth of the blade that slides into the groove of the bar, is bent and it can't be put on the bar again. Now I already need a new blade, Chinsey material. My Stihl chainsaws even the mini one could handle far more use, before the blades need replacement

Ego is the best battery powered equipment available out there!!!!! If you’re on the fence about buying this don’t be. We have many other products from this company and are very very happy with them. They all use the same similar battery so you don’t need different chargers for the different products that they sell. We have a snowblower, a lawnmower, a pole saw, Weedwhacker and a leaf blower all by this company. We love them and we’re saving the planet by not using gas.
