Battery Tester for Automotive Digital 12V Car Battery Load Test and Analyzer for Flood, Gel, AGM, Deep Cycle Battery

I needed to check the charge on my daughter's car battery to determine if I needed get her new battery. I saw this battery tester and did some research on it. The reviews were positive and I purchased it. This tester was easy to use and understand. The cost was very reasonable and value was well worth expense. Great product.

Bought this because I had an ongoing battery problem with my Jeep. Kept replacing the battery roughly every 2 years. Bought this to help me diagnose a possible charging system issue or possible parasitic drain issue. Works very well, easy to use and comes in handy for those hard to diagnose issues.

This works well enough, but the clips have very strong springs. So, while struggling to hold the clip open to place on the battery terminal, they can snap shut and the whole clip falls apart. With a bit of effort, it can be put back together, but it's more work than you would think.

Wow, this little tool is amazing. It immediately diagnosed my wife’s battery issue. Must read the instructions, which sit conveniently in a mesh pouch in the lid of the beautiful case. The product works, but seems expensive for you what you get.The meter is all plastic and the test leads are too short for comfortable use. Also, the meter is not self-powered, but instead uses parasitic power from the battery you're testing to power itself. This means that if the battery you're testing has drained too much, you won't be able to see exactly how bad it is, as the meter itself won't turn on. All in all, although it does what it claims, the feature set is poor for the price I paid ($30), so I'm returning it. I'd rate it as about a $15 tool.

I had a 3 year old, 1000 amp cranking battery on the port engine. The engine was failing to turn over sporadically when trying to start. 24 hours after being on the charger the battery voltage was 12.67 volts. Battery cable resistance was similar on both engines, so it wasn't bad 15 year old cables. The voltage on the suspect battery would drop to 9.8 volts with a 15 second stater test- close to failure, but not <= 9.6 V. I tested the suspect battery with the LEICESTERCN and found that it was only generating 557 amps or 56% of rating. My engine specs call for a minimum of 675 cranking amps. A new 1000 Amp battery fires the engine with every try. The LEICESTERCN quantified the cranking amps and helped identify the bad battery. Money well spent. I will be using the scale to monitor ALL my boat batteries to replace any marginal batteries BEFORE they make problems for me.

I narrowed down my search for a battery tester based upon product reviews. This is the one I decided to buy because I needed to test batteries on a vehicle I figured had a parasitic draw. Although my multi meter will tell me what the amperage draw is, I needed to test the battery for total CCA. So far I used it to test all five of our vehicles. I am satisfied with the product and would recommend it as an inexpensive alternative to the costly fancy models out there.

The how-to-use instructions are very obtuse, particularly the part about adding the “correct” digit to the sequence. Cannot fathom that at all & consequently don’t have much confidence in the tester’s accuracy.
