my new obsession
Yum! My cans look good. Havent eaten through the case yet, but what I have had has been lovely. I never had Hearts of Palm before. I only learned of them through trying (and loving) "pasta" made from it. Then one day I decided to give these a try. I am so glad I did! Slight artichoke flavor. Neat texture. Mostly firm on outside, more soft in center. Great snack. From reviews, I am not sure exactly what it is supposed to be. I imagine not mush, so hopefully none of my cans are like that. I havent figured out what I want to do with these recipe-wise. So far, I like just eating them direct from can. I already ordered another case as I think they will be part of my diet (so long as I can afford them--pricy!)

Palmitos for salads
These canned palmitos (hearts of palm) aren't bad. A bit softer than ones you might find fresh in Brazil but acceptable. I like them sliced in salads to provide interest; the slightly sour flavor and interesting texture and flavor make for a better salad experience. (A bit like adding artichoke hearts without the sweet-ish aftertaste.) One of the best soups I had in my life was a cream of hearts of palm in Sao Paolo years ago. You might substitute these for asparagus in a cream soup and see how it turns out.

Great quality
Tastes great! Only complaint is some cans came dented pretty badly - but that's probably shipping verses product. Overall, if you like Hearts of Palm - these are really good.

Great quality but sometimes comes dented
Great quality and my preferred brand. I would have given five stars, but for a while there half of each order came dented.

No taste!
I bought them because of one very good review: I planned to use them in salads. I empty the can in a colander and rinse everything well, the way I do with canned beans, to get rid of the accompanying chemicals (if any) and extra salt. What you have after that is a lot of tasteless vegetable pieces. Are they 'good for you'? I do not know. They do need seasoning to give them some taste. Would I buy them again? Definitely not. If you like hearts of palm buy whole ones, in a glass jar: they are delicious, expensive but delicious. Update - May 14, 2024 I managed to open and eat some six cans; then I figured life is too short to eat canned salad-cut palmitos when canned Pinto beans taste so good.. I have six unopened cans remaining; they will get 'donated' one way or the other [e.g. to the library, hidden in a stack of books, or to Purple Heart (among the size-12 jeans I gave up hope to wear again any time soon)]. My advice: if you want to eat hearts of palm, buy the kind that comes in a glass jar; they are very good (i.e. they do have a taste). These, salad-cut and canned? Forget it! [Last week, the Post Office had a food drive. Food drives usually are run for the benefit of 'the poor'. Well, 'the poor' deserve better than that crap and I donated a jar of honey.]

Great snack.
I buy this item often. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy sharing them as a low calorie snack. They are so satisfying, and taste great. The price is great too. I definitely recommend this product to my friends, and often share them with company. I love them.

Was not a huge fan. I love hearts . Addicted to them I need a month supply stocked in my pantry.
I’m giving this product 3 stars because the cans arrived in good condition with no dents. However, the taste and texture were not what I expected. I ordered the chopped hearts of palm, and compared to other brands I’ve tried, these were very different. The texture was somewhat similar to apples, but not as crunchy—it just didn’t have that tender, slightly crisp texture that hearts of palm usually have. The flavor was also much more bland, and it didn’t really taste like hearts of palm to me. Overall, it just wasn’t for me, and I will not be ordering this again.”

Delicious!
Delicious as expected. Most of them are soft. Each can contains 4-6 hearts of palm. For the shipping folks, the box always comes with 2-3 cans with big dents on them... Not sure if there's a way to mark that this should not be thrown around.
