Very sad that these bowls arrived in pieces. One was semi intact and I could see the beauty of the bowls from that one. Unfortunately, they are now showing out of stock. I'm so sad.

Full of newfound knowledge about porcelain, and how to tell a porcelain bowl from a sow's ear, I naturally jumped at the chance to own some genuine Lenox brand china. These small bowls passed the translucency test with flying colors, transmitting more light than the less expensive serving bowls I had reviewed previously, but surprisingly were significantly less beautifully resonant when struck, which in hindsight can be assigned to the less regular follower petal shape, whereas the previous bowls had been largely round and regularly shaped, better able to support regular modes of vibration. They are microwave safe, though the insert in effect cautions you that they will be hot, effectively saying that they are not going to be "safe" if you burn yourself handling them and fling them to the floor, without actually saying it. They have small charming bees and ladybugs glazed on, suggestive of berries and cream or some other lazy summer afternoon dessert, so they wouldn't be my first choice for a hot dessert in any case, and are daintily sized in a way that cries "modest portions", which will be helped along by using demitasse spoons to encourage slow eating. I experienced a moment's disappointment when I saw they were made in China, an emotion whose full irony quickly came to me, as porcelain was in fact *invented* in China and the sourcing of fine tableware there was so entrenched at some point that the country name became synonymous with the product, yet here I am reflexively thinking that this must be other than a product of the first water because it is made there still. Bone china, a variant of porcelain, was invented in England anyway, though the only common noun originating from the country name that I know of is the spin on a billiard ball! Fine tableware, technique in snooker—this must mean something? England or China though, what this exported Chinese made good marketed by a Connecticut-based US company brings to the table that Chinese-branded china does not is a limited lifetime warranty against breakage (don't forget to register with Lenox to activate this). It will make a thoughtful Christmas gift for the right person, and that's what I plan to make of it.

I recently received the Butterfly Meadow Floral Dessert Bowls in Pink and they are absolutely breathtaking! So beautiful, in fact, that I can’t bring myself to use them. Each bowl is delicately crafted, with soft pink tones and charming floral and butterfly details that feel timeless and elegant. They’re not just dishes, they're keepsakes. The design is graceful and feminine, with that classic Lenox quality you can feel the moment you hold one. These bowls are almost too precious for everyday use, which is why I’ve decided to save them for something even more special: a gift for my granddaughter. I know she’ll treasure them just as much as I do, and it warms my heart to imagine her using them one day, maybe even passing them down again. If you're looking for a meaningful, heirloom-quality gift or just something to make your table feel extra special, this set is a lovely choice. I give this lovely set five stars!
