Beautiful Color, Beautiful Coverage
Writing this review on my husband's account. I recently refinished our old piano and an old mirror we have. I originally wanted to use a chalk paint since it's very forgiving and easy to use, but have this milk paint a try because I could not find a navy blue chalk paint that was this rich in color. I'm so glad I went with my gut and picked up this milk paint. It's very easy to use and was already the thin consistency that I make my chalk paint before use (I add a cookie couple sprays of water to my chalk paint before use to get a smoother consistency.) Because it's thinner, I did need to use at least three coats of milk paint to get the same opacity as I would have with two coats of chalk paint, but this was not an issue for me. If anything, it was more forgiving because if I had any paint that pooled up and left paint globs, it was so easy to sand it off before the next coat. I experienced this with the piano because of all the tiny crevasses, but it really wasn't hard to fix. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the results of both the piano and mirror. For reference, I used five coats of paint on the piano (could've stopped at three, but the piano gets heavy use) and three coats on the mirror. I still have about a fifth of the can left, so I have enough to paint a small piece of furniture. Some tips: 1.) Don't be alarmed when you open the can and the paint looks bright blue; it dries to this deep, gorgeous navy color. 2.) If your piece is shiny, sand it with a medium grit sand paper to give the paint something to grip to. 3.) Use synthetic brushes; the coverage is just much better and easier to work with. 4.) You can use polycrylic as a top coat, but I used Jolie furniture wax as a top coat (also on Amazon); not only has it held up well, but it gave the piano and mirror and even richer color and great, smooth texture. Guests can't help but touch the piano because of how stunning it looks. 5.) If you paint a piano like I did, please don't paint the back/sound board, as this will compromise the sound. 6.) Have fun! This paint was very forgiving and easy to use! The can of paint was shipped securely; no issues with shipping like others have experienced. I posted multiple photos so you can see the paint in different lighting (lights vs natural.)

Beautiful Finish, Easy to Use, and Long-Lasting!
The Rust-Oleum Milk Paint Finish in Eclipse is a fantastic product for achieving a beautiful, vintage-style look with minimal effort. Milk paint has always been my go-to for furniture refinishing, and this one did not disappoint. The best qualities of milk paint shine through: it provides excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, and even previously painted pieces, with little to no prep work. The velvety matte finish adds a touch of elegance while enhancing the natural texture of the surface. It’s also low odor and fast-drying, which is a big plus for indoor projects. This particular shade, Eclipse, is a rich, deep color that looks stunning on both large furniture pieces and small decorative items. The paint is easy to apply and layers beautifully for a distressed or solid look, depending on your preference. Highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh furniture or add a timeless, rustic charm to their home decor! I used it as the base coat on the table, before painting it white and then distressing.

Beautiful Color & Super Easy to Use — Great Coverage Even Over Dark Wood
I love working with this Rust-Oleum Milk Paint in Highland Blue — it’s one of the easiest paints I’ve used for DIY furniture makeovers. The consistency is just right, and it goes on smoothly without dripping or streaking. I applied it over dark wood without any primer, and it still provided great coverage with just a couple of coats. The color is gorgeous — soft but rich, and it gives a clean, vintage-inspired finish without a lot of effort. It dries quickly and gives that lightly distressed, matte look that’s perfect for upcycled furniture or home décor projects. Highly recommend for beginners and experienced DIYers alike.

Best paint ever!
This is my 3rd time ordering this. It is mist definitely my favorite black paint. I live the chalky matted finish, I have used it on 5 dressers, night stands, crafts, chairs, bed frame, dining table. I can't get enough of it. It applies well and had great coverage after just 2 coats (thats with no prep on surface other than cleaning i didnt even sand a couple pieces) adhere well and actually doesnt clean to bad. Ita also easy to touch up pieces after a couple years of use or a chip or scratch.

Good paint
This paint is easy to apply, very smooth, love the milk paint finish, and good coverage too. The color I bought is Classic White, thinking it would be a classic creamy warmer white, it is a grey white, just an FYI.

This paint is perfect for adding some color to your furniture easily!
I used this paint to refurbish this side table. It paints on easily and pretty smoothly, I actually had the kids help me! It took two rounds to make it solid like the side table but if you are looking to do shabby chic one might be enough. I was worried that because it is so matte it would come off with any spill but (this is TMI) my puppy climbed up on the sidet able and peed on it we had to clean it with puppy stain and odor remover and the color stayed the same, no fading or scratching off. I've also had other skills that came right off with a baby wipe. If you want some sheen I'm sure it can be painted over with varnish. I also love the color! This is such a great paint for quick refurbishing projects, it also dries quickly. We left it overnight just to make sure but it seemed to have dried within an hour or two, at least enough so that I didn't need to worry about anyone brushing against it.

Eclipse does not equal Black!
Since there was a gray option and this color said Eclipse, I thought it would be black. No so! It is a dark gray. The manufacturer should make some note of that in the description. Otherwise, this is the easiest paint I have ever used. It isn't drippy like latex. It cleans with water, and I mean really cleans unlike the half clean you get after a half hour of scrubbing a brush used with latex. Does milk paint come in black? I'm on the hunt. I contacted the manufacturer and they were very kind and helpful. They suggested that when I put poly on top, Eclipse would look black. I continued with the project and the poly helped, but the black isn't true. It is really a very deep gray which can be seen under direct light. Likely, only the person doing the project will notice that the finish isn't totally black. My project is in a dim bedroom and it will be fine. Again, that milk paint was super easy to use. Cleans with water and fast! Soap is an extra.
