This halter is a great value for the price. The nylon and hardware are sturdy. It fit my thoroughbred perfectly.

Nice nylon halter - really like the padded upper nose band
I like the padded upper nose band. I did want a buckle on both ends of the crown strap though so that I could use a leather breakaway crown - which this halter does NOT have. So I modified it a bit.I added a breakaway tab and brass buckle to the side without a buckle on the crown and replaced the nylon crown with a breakaway leather crown strap. I know I don't need 2 breakaway devices but the breakaway tab gave me a cheap / easy way to add a buckle to enable me to use a full breakaway crown. Guess I don't quite fully trust those little breakaway tab bits. But again, it was a cheap / easy way to add a buckle for the full breakaway leather crown.

Nice heavy halters
Like the halters - nice and heavy - double stitched - should last. Do not like the cheek snap turned inward but that may be the way they make them now - haven't had to buy any for quite awhile.
