Sakura Color Set PW12 Setsuto 12 color poster color 30ml (japan import)

Okay, so, these paints are fantastic. These are my first poster colors and I LOVE THEM. Since I can't compare them to other poster colors I'll describe them as compared to opaque watercolor and gouche. First of all, these paints are water-based and yet... they do not lift when layers of other color are applied over them. I mean it, they do not budge once dry. So you can apply light over dark and vice-versa. The opaqueness is wonderful and fresh from the little jars the color is brilliant after drying. If you paint like I do from a palette and make little dishes of color, some of the brilliance is lost as the paint hardens on a palette but it's still glorious when re-wetted. This is not like gouache at all. It's weird. I can thin the colors down to watercolor opacity and then layer them to gouache/acrylic opacity. I... I wish I could better describe these. OH, and because this isn't said on the box: You get a warm and a cool tone of each primary color, a pair of warm/cool greens, burnt sienna, a purple (more violet-like), and a black and white. All colors mix together very well. I added a chart on the colors and how they look. Not taking off a star but: I WANT TO BUY LOOSE COLORS! So that when I do eventually run out (though I doubt that) I can pick up my favorites from this company instead of re-buying a whole set.

Oh my gosh, these paints are the best paints I've ever tried. AMAZING. I've been trying to find a brand of paint that is both affordable and has good quality for months to no success...until I bought these! Its a type of gouache paint that has a creamy texture and goes onto the paper very nicely. Its smooth, vibrant, and has no granulation. It responds and reactivates to water very well and is easy to control. Its no wonder these kind of paints were used to make the art behind famously beautiful Studio Ghibli films! I couldn't have found a more affordable and excellent quality paint. I have made them my new favorite and preferred medium to use in all my art. I will most definitely be buying these consistently--! No complaints at all! 5 star rating!!

So this are really easy to use and you can add water without loosing coverage capacity, so you can always revive them even after they are dry. They don't change that much after drying and I liked the results I got using them. Nice color palette.

Very pigmented and any paint left on your palette ca be re-wet with no problem so you don’t end up wasting any. Definitely a good and cheaper alternative to the more expensive Nicker poster colors. The jars they come in are glass so it gives them a high end feel.

I'm going to start with the packaging. As other's have indicated, you may get a cracked lid. This problem and the condition of the box is not due to shipping. It comes wrapped in bubble wrap. The obvious wear and tear of the box clearly shows that these paints are being stacked on top of each other or below something else that is heavy. The jars are glass and the cardboard used in the packaging is thin. Constant rubbing under weight would cause the packaging to fail and a lid to crack. the purple was in a corner is the Black which another viewer had an issue with. As far as the paint goes, the purple still seals, but i will transfer it to another 1 ounce 30ml jar when i can. The paint can be used thick to thin. It mixes well, as shown with basic skin tone mixes and the white shows coverage promise after only one brush stroke. The paint it pretty thick, so you will want to plan ahead with a little water. I'm very happy with the paint. It works very similar to Gouache

The box itself weighs about 4-6 lbs. I was worried I would get small jars but it is definitely worth the price. Color is creamy and opaque. The greens were slightly less opaque. You get good color payoff. The jars are glass and heavy duty. I'm considering buying another to have as a backup because I can't find these locally and I know I will use them up. I definitely recommend them.

12 set offers basic color pallete plus. Small size is good, not to dry out too fast.

Fantastici poster paint . Se siete amanti dei dipinti paesaggistici di alcuni pittori moderni giapponesi questi fanno al caso vostro. Sono gli stessi che usano loro. Vengono usati anche per opere di design , architettura e cartelloni pubblicitari. Per la qualità che hanno il prezzo è bassissimo non hanno una certificazione astm ufficiale ( resistenza alla luce ) ma da vari test che ho visto su siti specializzati quasi tutti i colori sono altamente resistenti ai raggi uv /luce e non si scoloriscono o cambiano di tonalità se esposti alla luce solare . I colori hanno una consistenza cremosa, sono altamente coprenti e si mischiano bene tra di loro. Meglio però non esagerare con il bianco a meno di volere un aspetto un po gessoso . Ottimi , consigliati a tutti.

I have been using Sakura brand tempera paint for 40 years now! I can say it's better than gouache and the Sakura brand has a special lustre and quality that readily adheres on watercolour paper; best of all, colours easily blend together!
