Wooden Unfinished Square Dowel Rods 1/2" x 36" for Crafting, Projects and Woodworking- Bag of 50

There is not a lot to say about these dowels. They are exactly as advertised with each dowel measuring out to 1/2"X1/2"X36". Out of the set of ten dowels I ordered, one had slight warping but the others appeared to be true. They were milled from hardwood that the seller claims to be Poplar. Although unfinished, the dowels were sanded to a smooth finish. They were sold to me by Craftparts Direct and fulfilled by Amazon. Craftparts Direct is an Amazon seller and their website (craftpartsdirect dot com) is under construction. Anyway, the set was shipped to me as part of a multi-item order. The bundle itself was in a clear plastic bag with two straps holding them together. The advertising copy lists several possible uses including the somewhat odd suggestions of bubble wands and roman shades but I figure you will already have an application in mind before ordering. If you are sure you want 1/2"X1/2"X36" square hardwood dowels then these are a very good value for the price. I was very satisfied with my purchase...five stars.

I like this type of natural wood color and right out of the bag, I cut it to my required length and made temporary side bars on my weaving loom to hold up my "tarp-made temple," worked really well! Now there are other projects that these will come into good use for.😀

This package of dowels was exactly what I needed for this Credenza up cycle project. It was way cheaper than buying at the hardware store. A couple of the dowels were crooked but I had extra so it didn’t matter. Highly recommend.

I used these along with some 6 mm Baltic birch plywood to make little "packing crates" for gift giving, and they worked great. They were very reasonably square right out of the package, and I was able to knock out several boxes in a short time before the holidays. It was a nice touch for giving hand made gifts, and these worked well and saved me a lot time compared to having to cut my own.

Yeah, baby! I LOVE that I could get these delivered to me and for a very good price! Straight, good boards. I use these for all kinds of things, and right now my project is a quick and easy shelf addition. Easy to cut - easy to glue to inside of unit. I'm using layered and paper-covered chipboard as the shelves and the items that I'll be using to store on them aren't very heavy, so these are perfect. I also cut four to make legs and make a removable shelf to set inside a unit that has too much wasted space between shelves.

Just what I needed. I was framing a painting (actually a small Senegalese sand painting) on a 1/4" board in a floater frame intended for a 3/4' canvas. I glued some of these to the back of the board at the edges so that the piece sat in the frame correctly and stood up from the background. Of corse I only needed one of the dowels, sawn into needed lengths. But I don't ming having these around.

Worked great, but would have been better for my project if they were more uniform in their dementions (some were slightly smaller in thickness, so not quite square). Either all of them perfectly square, or all of them the same slightly-less-than square size would have been better, as my project was relying on uniformity in material (but it turned out nicely, all the same!)

I sometimes need just a small square piece of wood as maybe trim, or in a current project, to hide a small mistake. This bag provided more than enough for this project and I have spare for the next time I make a mistake. They required no finishing.
