Psalm 91 is a covenant invitation by God offered to all believers to enter into. It offers protection from the storms of life. Like virtually all of God's promises to believers, this psalm has conditional promises. Faith in the Word of God in the promises of this psalm is what activates the covenant of protection. Walking in obedience to His Word is what keeps the covenant valid. Speaking the words of the psalm out loud every day is what the author recommends. The book is divided into two parts, the explanation of the psalm verses, and then multiple first-person accounts on how reciting and trusting Psalm 91 changed lives and showed how God Almighty delivers according to his promises in this psalm. For example, one story shows how a man used Psalm 91 to ward off a tornado that was headed directly for his home. He and his family recited Pslam 91 against the storm as it was approaching, and the tornado lifted and passed over his home. Some will call this sheer coincidence while others will proclaim God's protection, it all depends on the lens one is looking through (faith or doubt). This is a book of hope for those who believe in the Lord. Either the words of the Bible are true and can be relied upon, or the entire Bible is just a collection of hopeful stories and thoughts. If it is the former, there is great power in the Word and the Word becomes a foundation for life; if it is the latter, then these are just words, nothing more. The believer has a choice to make: To believe in the words as the very truth of God or to regard the words as nice words, if they could only be true. The first approach is that of faith, while the second approach is that of doubt. Just as the disciples were asked to proclaim who Jesus of Nazareth is (Mark 8:27), similarly, the reader is challenged as to whether he believes the Word or whether he does not. I read this book the first time and then went through it again (and again) and highlighted the parts that resonated to me. Truly, Psalm 91 is a unique Psalm and this is also a unique book. This is an excellent book by Peggy Joyce Ruth. I have ordered 6 more for my family! The author was definitely led by God in her explanations of Psalm 91. This book has been such a comfort in praying the covenant of protection and believing for a miracle of healing for my sister who has cancer. My eyes were opened to all of God's promises to His children in this wonderful Psalm.

Someone bought this for me after I had mentioned how much Psalm 91 meant to me. It talks about God's protection. I didn't know someone had actually lived this out in wartime, who's lives depended on keeping this wonderful Psalm close to them. I think this book is a gift from God, along with His words if your facing life threatening situations. I gave this book away to someone who felt the power of God in the testimonies. Love this book. I received so much revelation knowledge reading this book. It really expresses the meaning of this beautiful Psalm. Must read for the time we are living in.

We are studying this book in a small Bible study. The 1st half of the book explains the psalm. The 2nd half is full of testimonies. Very inspiring! Very challenging! Life changing if applied!

An absolute must read for the Christian believer and anyone else who might be interested. It starts off with an in-depth study of the psalm verse by verse giving a much greater understanding of what is being read and follows on with stories displaying plenty of proof of the great importance of this psalm, which is known as the psalm of protection

Great book

Beautiful and moving

I found this book intriguing, and with so many true stories of deliverance, difficult to become sceptical. I decided to start memorizing the Psalm, and told my friends about it. My friend sent it to her sister, who is five months pregant. Last week, there was a series of break ins in her sister's town, and the men drove over to her house; they were not able to get in, and my friend felt it was due to the powerful prayer of the psalm. The book does not claim that Psalm 91 is a magic chant but it gives background information on its various components and imagery, and how it connects with the psalmist's belief in God. At the back of the book there's a page with gaps where you can insert your name and make it more personal. It sure felt good to embark on my recent trip with the words of the psalm in my mind. Of course you can just read the psalm , but the book, with its background and many stories of people's deliverance from danger reinforces the basic principles of the psalm.
