I didnt read the description well enough so didnt realize this would not mesh with my current eero system. I was able to set it up outside using its own network id. Works beautifully to extend the wifi to the back of the property!

My husband is an IT professional and said we have done everything we could do to get wifi in our detached garage. He wanted to run a hardwire and he would have to drill through the exterior wall of our new house. I said no, and did some research and ordered this. I installed it and took the wifi system he installed down and suddenly I get an alert on my phone stating that his phone just joined the network. We also have a farm stand that is covered as well and we have strong signal 120 feet from the unit.

I have a few of these on my property and they connect easily to my game-cams and solar powered security cams that I have outside. Zero problems and decent reach. Great value, don't need the latest and greatest for that use case. It's held up in all sorts of weather, both intense Texas summers and 3 week long freezes.

I bought this TP unit specifically because I have a driveway LED rope light that I have the Wi-Fi box buried so I can mow the grass. When it works, it has a strong signal so I know it’s not because it’s buried that it continuously disconnects. The only way to get it to reconnect is to unplug the TP unit and reboot it that way. Every single time it comes back online with a strong signal. This thing is supposed to cover 2500 ft.² of space. At one point it had my Traeger grill connected that is on my back porch! Why?! I’m sick of having to go outside and unplug this stupid unit and replug it back in over and over again. I have three total LED lights outside. The other two are directly below the TP unit that is sitting on my front deck. It will lose connection from those also!! Trust me when I say to stay away from this, it is garbage! Buy something more expensive. This is not worth the money at all. Also, why is there not an outdoor TP unit that has Wi-Fi 6E? The rest of my Deco mesh system is all Wi-Fi 6E and has no problems. I checked and supposedly having a Wi-Fi six and a Wi-Fi 6E mesh system is supposed to not be a problem. I fear this is exactly the problem and exactly why I looked for a Wi-Fi 6E outdoor unit. Do not buy it unless you like to reboot it over and over again. My lights are on a cycle where they turn on at dusk and off at Dawn. If they are not connected to Wi-Fi at the time, the signal does not go through the lights and they do not go on or off like they’re supposed to. So basically I have to check and make sure they’ve done it, which is completely defeating the purpose of the automation.

Works well bit of a process to set up. Song signal as advertised and seamless transitions.

This is the one ! I bought a Deco 3 unit mesh for my house and it worked well. I have some cameras and smart items in my yard and workshop, about 60 feet away. This unit works perfectly as and add on for outside . I set it up for POE and it is strong and easy to use. My Deco master unit recognized it and I got it set up in less that 10 minutes. I am absolutely sold on TP-Link and Deco systems and equipment. I have tested with a phone wifi meter and my entire back yard receives a good steady signal.
