What Was the Lewis and Clark Expedition?

Perfect for my students
My third graders love this series of books. Several of them even keep lists so they can check them off as they read them. They’re highly engaging for kiddos who are fans of nonfiction. The pictures give extra info to go along with the text. Timelines in the back of the book make it easy for readers to keep track of events in the books. Perfect for avid and reluctant readers alike!

History Made Fun
This book is a great way to introduce Americas founding fathers who helped shape this nation. All children should know about these heroes. This book is more in detail and expands upon some the challenges Lewis and Clark faced, but this book highlights the many important aspects that Sacagawea helped to ensure the success of the expedition. At times in the book i thought I was reading about her role, which she played an instrumental part. This is a worthwhile book to have to read to your children especially if you want to teach them American history

Very good, simple explanations.
Very good book for children to learn more about our American history. Most importantly for those of us who live in Missouri. Great explanations and “side bars” to give insights. I recommend this purchase.

Excellent book for young history buffs!
This review is being completed by the 10 year old LACHNES MONSTER, who ordered this book, along with many others from the series. He says: "It gave me lots of information and just to see the 16 photos, also gave me a lot of information, to see what Lewis and Clark looked like". The book was one of the better books read, the photos and illustrations were excellent to show my son how the things appeared in the past. It included excerpts from their journals, maps, time lines of the journey and illustrations of those they met along their way. The reading level is perfect for a 10 year old, with historical information to help his education and knowledge.

Great except briefly mentions suicide and murder
This book is great, but in one sentence it mentions briefly suicide and murder. I don’t know about you, but suicide is not a word I want my daughter learning about and pondering at age 10. I just scratched the sentence out before I gave it to her.I used to blindly give these Who/What series to my 10yo daughter after I read two or three in the series and approved of them of being very unbiased and kid friendly, but after spot reviewing the Donner Party book that actually mentions eating children and cannabalism many times I’ve been reviewing these first before I give them to her or just scratch out things inappropriate for kids.Hope you found this review helpful.

Great book
My 8 year old loved this book. He was still 7 when he started reading it aloud to me. He read a chapter a day (he hates reading). The book is written very well with a good variety of vocabulary that challenged him but also was easy enough that he didn't get too frustrated. Whether you have a struggling reader, an on track reader, or an advanced reader, they will enjoy this book. It had a lot of interesting information and brought the story to life.
